The F1 Thread 2013 Season

Long way to go, Red Bull looks super strong again though......the cnuts.

The finger fecker is going to do 4 in a row isn't he.

At the moment it looks like it might be four in row. Webber is hopeless in the no2 car, Alonso is cursed and Mercedes shit their pants when it comes race day. Only driver I can see putting up a fight at the moment is Kimi.

Sad to say it but I agree. There is a huge gulf in class between Vettel and Webber who is way off Vettel's pace. I can see Kimi putting up a good fight though. I'd say had he qualified top 5 yesterday he could have well won it and closed the 9 second gap between him and Vettel. Not quite sure what's going on with Mercedes race day but they definitely seem to be having issues managing their tyres.

Thrilled for Raikonnen and Grosjean for coming from 9th and 11th to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively.

I doubt it, Vettel was coasting for the most part, with Rocky telling him to slow down etc. If Kimi had given him more of a fight he'd have just pushed harder. The Vettel/RB combination was in a class of its own yesterday.

Lets not forget Alonso should have had plenty more ponts, i expect him to be the main challenger to Vettel

If Raikkonen qualified top 5 he would have gone on a three stop strategy which was faster than two stop strategy he did, so he would have made up time. how much though who knows. Would have been much closer though.

Hamilton has been saying a lot in the press how he feels confident for this one, let's see where this talk takes him. I feel a surprise coming from McClaren though.

Ah hello RS, I didn't know you were an F1 fan, welcome to the mains thread.

Gary Anderson reckons Mclaren's front wing is way behind the times, will be interesting to see how they get on this weekend.

I'm hoping for a Kimi win, fingers crossed the Allison departure doesn't hurt Lotus too much as the season progresses.

Vettel, Kimi or Alonso will win, if its not one of them I'll be very surprised.

I havent had a chance to watch much F1 this season due to work but jeez, talk about the fall of McLaren. The team has been a total shambles this year and five races in they are still two seconds off the pace in practice.

It's because they totally redesigned their car over the off-season rather than improving on the previous one. Makes you question why they did it though, when they're so far off the pace and considering how good they were towards the end of last season. I think they won something like 5 of the last 10 races.

Please anyone but Vettel this weekend. feck he irritates the shit of me.

Hey Nick, yeah I've been watching F1 ever since the Brawn team years of Button and Barrichello when Button won that year. They've been absolutely dire these three training sessions, and my prediction of them causing an upset looks well and truly wrong haha. They haven't even made top 10 in one of them, so there will be no shock from them. Whitmarsh's decision to scrap the original design and redo it has well and truly come back to haunt them.

Ferrari look the strongest for this, I'd go for a Massa pole in fact, then Alonso 2nd and Vettel 3rd

I think it's safe to say their new car is going to be dog but they had to redesign as they had ran out of ideas on what to do with the 2012 car.

McLaren have become the Liverpool of F1.
I would say they're the Arsenal of F1. Williams are more of a Liverpool.

Bernie on the wind up there with suzi

She's not doing a bad job, she has stumbled on lines once or twice and at times looks a bit awkward on camera but I'm sure she will get better with time, still better than those feck nuggets on sky.

she is getting better with every race, it must be a big learning curve for her, but she is doing OK.

That Andrew Brundle talk with Rosberg was fascinating. Just shows how much F1 has developed over the years, and how complex those machines really are.

Aye, it must be tough doing it live too and getting it perfect but she is almost there. Just a shame that Ben is still an excitable little wanker. feck you Ben.

Green light on. Everyone just looking at each other in the pit at the moment...

Not even the slower cars out yet which is odd!

At last cars on track. Almost 5 minutes into the fecking session.

Total piss take, if the drivers can't be bothered than why the feck should we bother to watch. First timed lap has taken around 7 minutes.
