The F1 Thread 2011 Season

It'll probably be a boring race now, Vettel from lights to flag is the simple prediction.

Those red suits for McLaren look decent, reminds me of the early 90's McLaren's.

This is going to be one of the most boring seasons of F1 imo. Vettel's car is just a bit too good.

i want BBC to replace Eddie with Bruno Senna, he is better than that other feck head.

that is all

Hopefully it'll be like Button's championship year, he has the dominant car at the start and is far better than his team mate; the rest will catch up and make it a more even playing field

Vettel probably hangs on, and some muppets claim he isn't a legitimate champion... oh wait...

Speaking of the bbc does Christian Horner work for them or something he gets more air time then anyone in F1 go to somebody else for a change.

A dominating driver doesnt have to mean a boring season; there's plenty if racing going on behind him that still makes for exciting F1 imo.

They always try and talk to the team principal of the pole sitter or race winner, when Hamilton or Button are up there we see plenty of Whitmarsh, when Alonso is up there we see Domenicalli or Costa.

Yes thats true there is excitement going behind the race leaders but but its boring when its just one guy winning all the time you want a fight for the title and a race win.

I for one miss Johnathon Legard.

You crazy.

It's only interesting when the person at the front dominating is your favorite driver, I loved it in 09 when Button was dominating. For the sake of the rest of the year though I really hope Red Bull get pegged back atleast abit just to make it half interesting this year, I mean 7-8 tenths advantage in quali and then cruising the race gets pretty drab after awhile. It's not like its Senna/Prost every race either, Vettel vs Webber isn't what anybody wants to see unless your a Vettel fan.

He isn't though! He's fantastic, fast and seemingly level headed but come on his team mates have been Mark Webber & Sebastien Bourdais and he has happened to find himself behind the wheel of a race winning car the last 2 seasons and again this year. Button was considered good but never great, got a race winning car and delivered the championship, the car is king in F1 these days.

There are many drivers that could jump into the Red Bull and mount a title challenge, the fact Mark Webber nearly won it last season to me says alot ofcourse Vettel suffered a few failures but its not like the rest did not either.

We won't know how good he is until you pitch him directly against another top driver in the same car if it ever happens, Alonso vs Vettel in a Ferrari would be dreamy.

Not really sure why Button went out again, should have saved a set of tyres to give himself parity with Hamilton as he was never going to beat Vettel....

His car has a lot to do with it , yes a good driver but the car is fantastic and way quicker than any other out there.

We'll just have to see won't we when the next big redesign comes along and who can steal the march, as it's clear that Newey has the edge at the moment

Blimey, first time I get to watch Formula 1 on BBC. 'Slightly' better than the shower of shit we get on Israeli TV in terms of commentary...

Interesting to hear that the FIA make it clear that the 'one defensive move' rule does not apply to the start of the race.

Just tuned in. Great start from the Mclarens. Schumi jumped from 14th to 9th. Not bad for him. Ferrari are losing pace. They need to push harder but I guess they are conserving their tires.

Nico Rosberg is really holding back the two Ferraris. They need to get past him quickly. The front three are pulling away from the next three.
