Because our normal international contenders, the one with actual money to at least halfway decently replace eventual losses of players after a season, are on their way back to the champions league/Europa league. Leipzig will only improve and Dortmund can’t always be that bad.

I didn't watch the whole match since i was still at work when the match started but Ruiz has played in a more central role in the midfield. Last year he replaced Adrien in some matches.
He's been fine for us. Some good games in the CL and in the cups. Portuguese league is easier than Serie A and with some continuity i think he can be an interesting player for Sporting.

Don't let the names fool you. Apart from Atletico, most of those teams are on the level of those we faced last season, or are really not all that great this season (eg: Milan, Dortmund). Napoli and Leipzig have been drawn against each other and assuming Napoli get through, even they will be focused on the league.
Atletico really is the only threat for Arsenal, and it looks like they will be able to focus entirely on the Europa sooner than we did because the league route already looks impossible for them.
