The Europa League 2017/18(Use the SF thread to discuss the current match)

Reports are saying that Cologne fans bought seats for the home crowd sections from touts and they're trying to get into the away areas from there. Sounds like all hell could break loose.

It´s Cologne. They could be banned from Europe for the next 30 years and miss out maybe twice. Why you think they all want to see this game so desperately.

Don't get it. They won't be banned if they didn't do what they are doing. Even if there team is so crap they'll at least get to see their team for 6 matches in Europe this season.

Their club definitely doesn't deserve to be heavily punished because its fans are idiots.

Cologne almost destroyed their stadium when they go relegated in 2012. They are used to behave like clowns.

That's exactly why they do deserve to get punished. Puts the onus on the club to sort its fans out.

They didn't tell their fans to do this and they can't control what each of their fans are doing. The fans are the idiot ones who are hurting their club doing this BS.

If the match is cancelled, UEFA need to come down hard on Köln. I would say throw them out but that would result in revenue losses for other clubs.

I think they should play the remainder of their games at home behind closed doors.

Guardian report

“I was visiting Hamburg back in February and watched a midweek cup game between Hamburg and Cologne,” writes Steve Blowers. “I sat in the home end but pretty much everywhere in the stadium there were away supporters mixed in with the home support. There was no trouble but it definitely put me on edge the entire game.” In a sense today’s chaos was foreseeable, with over 20,000 (some reports say 30,000) Cologne fans known to be heading towards London despite the official away allocation being only around 3,000. Perhaps the authorities expected those without tickets to watch the match in a London pub, as suggested by Cologne’s manager Peter Stöger. It seems the powers-that-be have been taken by surprise by the number of away fans who’ve managed to get their hands on tickets.

Are Koln any good this season? Given the situation I'm thinking about placing a wager on them for tonight.

To be fair, away fans mixed up with the home crowd is pretty common in Germany and rarely any trouble.

Arsenal embarrassing the Premiership ffs.

FC Koln fans have pretty much taken over the Emirates stadium. They would never get away with that at United.

What a bizarre thing to brag about

Cologne could play anywhere today, it would always look like this. This was to be expected. Has nothing to do with Arsenal. Though, the size of their stadium makes it easier to get tickets.
