"The dressing room is just a disaster"

I still don't get it why would Scholes say Lingard told him this.

I'm really starting to disklike our former players as pundits who think they have to say something so media can start stories that it came from this particular player.

Keane, Rio and Gary are good, but Scholes has been so disappointing...

The whole club is a fecking disaster although I wouldn’t put any of that on Rangnick as he’s stepped in on an interim role to the most toxic club in the world and because he’s an interim the players couldn’t give a feck what he says or thinks and the Glazer’s don’t see the point in backing Rangnick because he’s an interim.

Personally I don't consider Scholes publicly sharing that comment to be as bad as Lingard and his chums creating that toxic dressing room environment in the first place. Scholes is thick, but he at least cares about the club, which is more than can be said for Lingard

If he actually cared about the club, then he should feck off from bad punditry and ask a job in the club. The man has slaughtered every United manager from the go except the worst of them, he didn't say shit about his friend even though his football was dogshit for almost 3 years. Even now he won't acknowledge who is responsible for "building " this team, he'll just continue bashing Ralf. Really awful pundit.

Scholes was a fantastic player who gave his entire career to this club without causing any fuss or controversy. He doesn't deserve to be grouped with a horrible little scrote like Lingard

It seems to me that whenever I see Scholes on TV or read him in the press, he his dissing the club.

I preferred him when he did his talking on the pitch and kept his opinions to himself

Gary is the worst

What’s sad is this didn’t happen over night, it’s been a number of years that it’s infested in this fashion. And we all watched it.

Ole bent over and took it (no offence to Ole that’s his nice guy personality) encouraged it by doing so, and now they all think they’re something special. And willing to blame everyone and anything else than themselves (case in point our captains attitude). When in fact, they’re a joke. That everyone else in the league is laughing at.

Didn’t watch the game yesterday, decided to go out and enjoy the day instead. Thankful I did.

It’s funny though that all the critics that are former players failed miserably in management themselves… scholes lasted like a week and Neville failed at Valencia yet when there talking about United they think they know what’s best and what manager we should of gone for. Ridiculous

If there isn't something in the contract about dismissible offenses then there should be. As a minimum there needs to be a code of conduct

Always surprises me how ex players are falling over themselves to make the clubs situation worse, this sort of stuff never happened with scouse pundits when Liverpool were finishing 8th.. it sometimes feels like they’re lining up to tear strips off the club, They’re clearly trying to change things.. why are they always so desperate to make negative headlines? How about protect the players a little in until the end of the season? We outplayed Arsenal today and were unlucky to come away with a loss due to numerous terrible reffing decisions.. “I know, I’ll talk about how bad the dressing room is…”
wtf?

I think it must have been going on for years. Every player seems affected. So it's fair if some of them need to say it after enduring it for so long. The only issue with Scholes is that it looks like a leak. If Lingard had said it following what Ralf started, I don't think I would mind it one bit. It's simply students echoing what the teacher says.

Unfortunately this club is a bit of a joke right now.

We have:
  • players leaking and briefing the press anonymously - on any given week pick a couple out of Pogba, Lingard, Maguire, Rashford, Henderson (and probably Greenwood when he was relevant).
  • players not working for the team when on the field - look at Rashford/Lingards cameos in the last few games when we're chasing the game. They come on with 20 mins to go and they're not tracking back, and just jogging around. Also, Rashford in head down "I'm going to beat everyone and am not interesting in passing, especially not to Ronaldo".
  • players (or their agents) briefing the press about considering options, wanting to leave, etc
This club is Manchester United and the club is bigger than the player. Noone has a god-given right to wear the shirt, and every player should expect competition to arrive at any time for their position, be it from the academy or from new signings. Players expecting to play just because are just deluded. Players getting upset because they're being told they're not playing well - by now they should have grown a spine.

At lot of this I feel is just desserts by United. If you look at all the above statements and think back over the last three years, Pogba has been doing all of the above consistently over that time. I feel to some degree what has happened is that the rest of the team has seem Pogba as a role model in that regard. The main thing is that Pogba has done all of the above AND GOT AWAY WITH IT. At no point has United actually clamped down on it, so Pogba keeps doing it, but also the other team mates if they're unhappy just do the same.

In the days of Fergie and Keane there is no way this would have happened. If players were doing this more than once they'd be for the hairdryer and if they did it again they'd be sold. We are pampering these players.

If you are unhappy you're not playing, put a shift in, get fitter, show in training that you deserve the shirt. All this millennial crap is just tosh. You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake - you're just a lazy bastard who when you get on the field jog around like you're in a testimonial and you regularly get outperformed by you're opposite number in the Norwich squad.

Agree 100%. 10million for Kamara in January could have got us that 4th spot.

I think it was very unwise of Scholes to name Lingard as his source and probably it is the final nail in Jesse's coffin as far as his career at Utd is concerned. However, from a fans perspective it is patently true, as backed up by McT and it was brave of him to publicly say it. At least he was speaking for himself and not for others. It would be really interesting to have more insight as to the causes and sources of the discontent, but I guess we will have to wait to be drip fed over the months and years to come, and even then I suspect their will be a multitude of different player perspectives. Clearly RR has done nothing to pull the team together.

ETH's first job is surely to come in and quickly weed out the bad apples. Tactics are secondary to getting the players wanting to play for each other and the club. Despite all the individual player criticisms we do have a lot of talented individuals and if they were playing as a team they would be more than capable of getting 4th spot this season, particularly given the poor quality of the other teams that are competing for it.

It's good the fans know what is going on also.

Who would that be? I would ask where was this energy for Ole? He done a wonderful job at Cardiff didn't he?

Rangnick even if he hadn't managed for 10 years, was still 10x the manager. He simply hasn't been given a fair chance from the start if we're being honest.

Rangnick is the worst manager in the league. He lost to fecking Lampard FFS

Our problem has be the same since Sir Alex retired. Lack of leadership.

The most important employee in a elite club must be the manager. Sir Alex, Klopp and Pep has (had) one thing in common except being great leaders and that is that nobody was more important or more valuable then them. Not the owners, not the CEO/DoF and absolutely not any of the players. Their leadership is built on a clear vision, a well organized structure and total discipline. Everyone inside the club is onboard and work against the same goal.

The total opposite of todays United.

When Erik ten Hag arrives he must be given total authority regarding in and outgoing players. 100%. Those who don’t share his visions and accept his leadership must leave the club. That include players, coaches, tea lady’s or whatever.

The owners and our CEO has no other option then to trust our new manager if they don’t want to repeat what we see today.

The more I hear Rangnick talk about clear-outs, rebuilds to the tune of new 10 players and ending the ill-advised and totally unsuccessful Galactico strategy, the more convinced I am that he can help the club going forwards.

As was predicted at the time by many on here, the player power experiment we started running mid-way through Mourinho's tenure has ended up being a complete disaster. These players are no good - they have failed and they need to go. Their replacements need to be young and hungry and willing to run and press and follow instructions from their manager. Anyone not willing to tow the line, should be shown the door.

Lingard blaming others for the dressing room without realising he’s actively contributing to that atmosphere just smacks of the levels of entitlement we have at player level. Here’s an idea lads, if things are shit and no one’s getting along, why don’t you all just stop being cnuts instead of blaming the manager and the staff?
Absolutely. I think back to that video of the England squad with him being a petty schoolboy over TAA and imagine that’s the toxicity x1000 in our dressing room.

Can’t quite get my head around why scholes thinks airing the thoughts of a player who’s leaving this summer is a good idea. Really not liking any of our current or former players at the moment, it’s all far too counter productive.

Ten Hag should ban the dressing room talking to these ex United pundits. Scholes, Rio, Neville etc. More you hear from them, the more you realise they are fecking dim (less so Neville in my opinion), but because they are pundits and ex-united their views are parroted around as fact.

We need to rip the SAF/class of 92 band aid off. The club can still respect and pay homage to the past - without living in it.

You get the feeling some serious shit is going to be thrown any time now.

I'm sure it's true but the players look lost out there half the time, for me that's on the coach just as much as the players. Maybe they can't take instructions well but it's actually your job to make them Ralf - if they don't understand you say it again in different ways until they do, and if they do understand but ignore it then you drop them, fine them, whatever. He hasn't done any of that seemingly so has no right to complain. Played the same old shit week after week with baffling tactics. I have no doubt it's not an easy job but there's almost nothing he's done well.

How has there not been a scrap behind the scenes yet? Does no one care that their careers are on the line and their team mates are letting them down? I find it hard to understand why we haven’t seen someone with a black eye yet.

I'm not sure that punch-ups are really desirable, but if these players are as passive in the dressing room as they are on the pitch, then after a defeat like yesterday I imagine they all just sit in the corner and sulk a bit (maybe while Lingard dances).

This I can believe.

My stance on this is: Listen to Ralf Rangnick. Hope the board and ETH do. While of course ETH and his vision/style have to take precedence, the players who don't wish to bleed and develop for the door need to be shown the door.

I think some must be resigned to their United careers being finished while others will be positive ETH will give them a fresh lease of life.

apparently they spent all week rehearsing a handshake and bruno walked in and missed jesse’s hand completely with the first swing of his arm. ronaldo tried to join in but his hand was described as “wet fish like.” it was like his heart wasn’t even in the handshake. all the while pogba just did a sullen floss as he watched on.
Ah you have to laugh

No fan of Lingard, I think he's an eejit but I've no problem with him or Scholes saying it. There's too much money, too many egos, too many social media profiles. Ten Hag has an almighty job on his hands.

If bates is accurate, that is basically a briefing straight from Rangnick to the press. It's way too detailed. Bates is either fan-fiction writing or getting a direct report. Maybe as counter to the scholes comments from Jesse?

I wonder how the board feel about Rangnick's recent comments to the press. Do you think they're happy for him to expose the squad, or has he gone rogue doing it against their will?

I hope they're fully behind him, and ETH too, but I have this nagging feeling they aren't, and he might be looking at the sack. He's speaking so openly about the problems within the squad - it's almost as if he's got nothing to lose.
