Bemzema and Vinicius is our best bet
Are you a bit old, pops?
We'll avenge them within the next ten years.
Got a feeling they will mess it up.Bemzema and Vinicius is our best bet
It would rely on Liverpool having a crisis and us going to Anfield in Red hot form.
Oh, you want precise revenge. I see.Beat Liverpool 7-0? We've won by 7 or more goals like, 4 times in the last 30 years... And against middling/naff teams. It's pretty improbable we'll beat Liverpool by 7 goals in the next 10 years.
At the end of the day, if we've finished above them and have silverware in our cabinet and they have a tin of 7 up in theirs we've won the war for this season.
What he saidWhat about never making anymore threads about it ?
Yeah, true. Wes Brown with the jammy header to take the lead. But even then it was a close, cagey game until Mascherano decided to get himself sent off.
I know. Ronaldo in his prime!Ah yes, the Mascerano implosion.
Damn we had some team that season
What has hurt a lot about the trouncing is that if it happened with most other clubs there would always be a possibility for revenge. I'd even be more confident about scoring 7 at the Etihad but with Liverpool we've never been able to go to Anfield at humble them at our best, we've barely done it at Old Trafford either
I've been thinking over how United could avenge the defeat.
1) Thrashing Liverpool - will be unlikely in the near future even if ETH turns this team into world beaters. It would rely on Liverpool having a crisis and us going to Anfield in Red hot form.
2) going on an unbeaten run against Liverpool - in some ways more feesible but also arguably more difficult. If we could not lose to them for several seasons it may be a long drawn out revenge which can damage them psychologically. Even if its just a few seasons of 1 nils and two ones.
3) knocking them out of the Champions League - would be a big risk but if we could knock them out of the Champions League with decisive performances this might be doable and would hurt Liverpool considering how special the champions league is to them
Are there other ways for United to get revenge?
The 4-0, 5-0 (9-0) on aggregate last season were too. It’s becoming a pattern, essentially us being their perennial whipping boys.I don't think we will humiliate them in a similar way in me lifetime. That result is one for the history books. What we could do is start winning big significant trophies (PL, CL) and that way make them irrelevant.
Same situation but Paul Pogba who has returned on loan at 38 years old dabs the ball in from an offside position which var fails to spot in the 96th minute. The only thing that will make up for this is a scenario where City have fallen behind and we are playing Liverpool at Anfield 2 points behind the top in the last league game of the season.
And beat them with a 90 minute 4-3 goal by a cannon from Bruno 20 meters out
Liverpool finished 2nd when we finished 7. Yet I still feel quite a bit of joy due to that Gerrard slip, though.A 7-0 loss means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Would you take a 7-0 win against them over a league position above them?
Weird reading this thread. Some people are acting like us winning the league may be some kind of partial revenge. Absolute insanity.
If they miss out on top 4 and we get it, plus we already have a trophy - then I wish them well with their banter as they watch us in the champions league and returning to the top of the sport.
I think there are a lot of youngsters here. Trust me, time heals everything. But it doesn't heal trophies won by rivals, those are actual silvery things in cabinets, they exist. I'm not sure one will be handed out for Sunday.
Amazed no one has laughed at this post yetWe're both tied on two Champions Leagues. Obviously we'd have to get back into the competition first to move ahead but it's still feasible.

Was gonna post this too! Was that the game with the Mascherano red and Nani capping a lovely afternoon with a fine goal?3 nil at old trafford in 08! Was at the game, lovely day.
Username checks out.If the Glazers get bought out by Qatar, then go in as majority owners at Liverpool, keeping their own leeches around for extra leeching potential and bringing that asset stripping loan shark organisation whose name escapes me with them, then they embark on an unprecedented asset stripping leech fest, then when they are in league 2 in a few years time, we draw them in the league cup and decimate them 20-0 that would be a great response.
The Glazers owe us this
