What has hurt a lot about the trouncing is that if it happened with most other clubs there would always be a possibility for revenge. I'd even be more confident about scoring 7 at the Etihad but with Liverpool we've never been able to go to Anfield at humble them at our best, we've barely done it at Old Trafford either

I've been thinking over how United could avenge the defeat.

1) Thrashing Liverpool - will be unlikely in the near future even if ETH turns this team into world beaters. It would rely on Liverpool having a crisis and us going to Anfield in Red hot form.

2) going on an unbeaten run against Liverpool - in some ways more feesible but also arguably more difficult. If we could not lose to them for several seasons it may be a long drawn out revenge which can damage them psychologically. Even if its just a few seasons of 1 nils and two ones.

3) knocking them out of the Champions League - would be a big risk but if we could knock them out of the Champions League with decisive performances this might be doable and would hurt Liverpool considering how special the champions league is to them

Are there other ways for United to get revenge?

Just get the glazers out and fulfil our potential the rumblings of their ownership will be at the forefront of their minds if they see new stadium plans etc.

i’ve been thinking long and hard about this since sunday and the best i could come up with was sending loads parcels, full of rancid dog turds, wrapped in human hair, to their ticket office. then i remembered ten hag was bald :(

Wait till the Qatari’s buy us, build a new stadium and call it Flanfield.

That’ll learn ‘em.

Sorted. Cheers girls.
That's us at 8-8 now

Beat them 8-0 in the CL final next season.

Win trophies, get back to the top, ignore their existence. Why would you spend your time trying to give a bunch of "i dun beliv it" guys a revenge? It's not worth it bruv.

I was going to suggest breaking into the houses of every Liverpool player/staff member but then I remembered the Scouse fans have already beat us to it.

Ah well, I suppose we could just nick their hubcaps instead.....

feck them, they will eat of this for years.
Finish above them and win more trophies then them and it wont matter, that not to say it does not hurt and will always hurt but it will hurt a bit less.
Other teams have hammered us City 6-1 at home was arguably worse and we just dusted ourselves off and got on with it.
I have no doubt they have shirts and vids already doing the round, feck them also.

It was way worse, no doubt about it. At OT, under our legendary, most successful manager, defeated by an oil team that were far from their peak... they were just getting started. It's the stuff that makes you question life. It ruined football for me.

We can get the Qataris to buy them (after buying us) and then getting them to dissolve the club.

I mean it’s one Premier League game where we remain a fair few points ahead of them after. Beating them 1-0 in a cup final would be sufficient “revenge”.

If there was even a possibility of it happening in a game, their dirty scrotes would be putting some nasty leg breakers in.

If we were ever 4 up, there's no way Rashford leaves the pitch with both legs in tact.

It’s football so you never know. But I doubt we will see it.
I would be happy to see us finish in the top 4 this season. With them losing out of course.

Just remind them , your Liverpool supporting ‘ mates’ that is , that they would have done the real treble in 77 only for us! Works for me.

While it's still very fresh, give us a season in which they'll be top of the PL table from MD 1 up to MD 37. With one game to go, we are in second place, two points behind them. Last stop, Anfield. Hic Rhodus, hic salta.

we dont need to avenge anything, we can take solace in the fact we arent skip licking slum dwelling web toed banjo playing deluded mawkish overly sentimental gobshites with a penchant for stolen gear and giros. feck em.

Can we just stop fecking posting threads with reference to the Sunday disaster in the title ffs?

They should forget about avenging anything for now and focusing on improving game by game. When we're back to winning titles we can think about revenge.

Finish ahead of them this season and win more trophies. Job done.

Finish above them in the league this season, in the top four by one goal.

That way they would be left thinking they should have scored 8.

Just kick them out of your head and don’t let them live rent free.
They get benefits for that

Might never avenge the 7 - 0 but will be beating them home & away on the reg when the oil money starts trickling through. We will have unlimited funds while they'll be stuck with the FSG sell to buy model which has only produced the little it has due to Klopp.

Winning tophies isn't enough feck that. They've humiliated us three times in four games putting 16 goals past us with no reply.

We absolutely do need revenge and need to return the humiliation. I want to see that horse faced cnut Klopp look like he wants the world to end. It also has to happen with TAA, VVD, Henderson and Robertson on the pitch.

... win a few PL trophies?
That's a good start, yeah.
As it was said they'll live of it for years to come but getting us back where we were will make it a lot better, if it will be combined with some fall from grace of theirs it would be even better.
Hopefully we'll beat them 4 or 5-0 too in the near future cause I dont see us ever beating them by margin of 7 goals unfortunately.

Also coming back there with our chins up, without fear finally and beat the hell out of them, both by goals and literally.

Hard to think about it, let alone write it but they own us big, big time in the last few years, to portray it mildly.

I don't know about revenge for a 7-0 as that was a freak result. At this stage I would just take a 1-0 win against them, preferably at Anfield as a starting point.

I think losing to them at Anfield isn’t actually that big a deal, we shouldn’t have lost by 7 though! The things that really add insult to injury are big away wins like when we lost 0-5 at OT. If we can go to Anfield and dominate them, even if it’s only a 2-3 goal win, I think that means a lot more to be honest. Easier said than done though given they live for that fixture.

What we’ve done really well so far this season is not drop too many points against smaller teams and been extremely good at home (we’ll end the season with 1W&1L versus City, Pool and Arsenal) despite bad away performances in all those games.

Next step is being able to get results away from home in, turn, taking big points away from top four rivals.

Ultimately the only thing we can do is keep winning one of the Big 2 on a regular basis. Especially the European Cup as that’s their pride and joy

or maybe winning at Anfield 7 times in a row

Let it go already

Seriously. This is such a small time thread. "Oh he punched me last week in front of the girl I like, I need to punch him back".

Just get back to being a top level team again and it'll rile them up like it did for the last 30-ish years.

It would rely on Liverpool having a crisis and us going to Anfield in Red hot form.

That's exactly the scenario we went into that game. They beat us 7-0 before we could even avenge the 5-0 from last season. Its fecking depressing.
