A Manutd's level player,is a player that gives his soul to the team. He may be a reserve but he knows that he may be utilised any day and is capable to play equally well like the first team.

His class is seen everytime he enters the pitch, and he plays regulary WELL because that is why he is paid. Every player can give a good game ever now and then, but that is not enough if you to satisfy Manutd's demands.

You may be a reserve but PPL love you. They put their trust in you and wont worry if a player gets injured because they know that you are capable.

Do you think that P Nev is at Manutd's level?

You decide

You focus far too much on individual players, and especially individual players that you don't like.

It's a team game, focus on the team for feck sake.

I dont hate no one my friend. What I am just doing is to try to create a neutral topic where ppl can discuss this hot issue

Do you think that P Nev has the consistancy needed to reach Manutd's high demands?

Do you think that he can earn a regular place at OT?

He played magnificently against Arsenal, but are these performances rare?

Do we see him as an option or do we play him when we are extremely forced to?

P NEV earns 30 grands a week, he is payed as a top player(as much as his brother and OGS), but is he really at that level?

Questions that needs answers

Sir Alex plays him when he feels he can do a job, and Kenyon pays him what he thinks he's worth.

That is good enough for me.

devilish, u claim you hate no united players?
but most of your post is targeting on P Nev...so what's your prob with him?

SAF plays him when he have no choice.

And about my posts being always against him, its ironic.

Last week ppl accused me that I am always against Blanc, before that against G Nev, before that Barthez and before that Giggs and May.

Critising is one thing, hating another

But that's what's ahving a squad is all about

Who should he have played there on Saurday if we Phil hadn't been around? Mary, the tea-lady?

It's all about playing games together and getting a decent run in the side. A couple of years ago Butt was awful everytime he got a chance in the team, but he showed that if he got a good run at his chosen position what kind of player he could be. The difference is between PN and world class is consistancy. If he played like he did against the ARSE every week for 2 seasons, he's be at Real Madrid.

Bet she'd have sorted Vierra out!

Well if she knew how to play football she would have been probably been prefered

Look we are not talking about a fledgling but about a player who

1 He is payed 30 grand a week
2 He is too old now to drastically improve

For god sake at that age and wage I would pretend a fairly good player who can compete for a place rather than play when there is NO ONE available.

The list of ppl jumping P Nev for a place is endless ( O Shea, Brown, Silvestre and Fortune) can't you see hes not at our level

He looked very much on our level on Saturday, and has done for the vast majority of games played this season.

You, however, is not on our level.

Can you plss shut up Giggsy? Insulting rather than discussing makes me think that girls only watch football for the footballer's legs.

I am not saying that P Nev is not a red. But there are millions of Manutd fans who love the team but are not able to play for it.

About the Patrick Viera think, we all know that it was one of those rare flukes.

Thats what people said about young Nicholas Butt a year ago.

Our level when? Even SAF himself rate him low. He prefar to play his dog rather than P Neville

That was a very funny comment..

Effing tool!

Nicky Butt's improvement had been seen in the past 3 years and you needed two big binoculars not to see it.

Same goes for Brown and Silvestre.

And Giggsie please talk civilised. I am trying to put up a good post, dont be an idiot and ruin a good discussion

Was it? Personally, I thought Butt had taken a step backwards until last season..

Sorry misprint if you couldnt see it.

The list of ppl jumping P Nev for a place is endless. First Silvestre, then Brown then O Shea and then Q Fortune. Do you think that he will be jumped also by Escude, Burdisso and Dioup ( if they come at OT)?

You know the answer

I don't know, I've never seen Burdisso and Escudo play.

Well I had always faith in Nicky. He may have lost some concentration but that comes with experience.

SAF himself had faith in him. Unlike P Nev he didnt brought anyone to take his place ( as Keano's cover)

Butt may have looked raw, but had the basics to succeed (as a defensive midfielder). Heart, stregnth a well time tackle and a good pass

And he has HIS place in the Man United set-up, just like Phil has his..

You never answered me, who should have played in Phil's place on Saturday?

If we go on to sign all three than Fergie's belief in Phil is low. And the young Neville will probably be on his way in such case.

I can't see us signing all three though! Escude probably, the rest...

There is a distinct possibility that this thread could grow it's own arsehole and dissapear right up it. Here's hopin....

@ this thread. now you know why i never take this character seriously.

P Nev played for England after 17 matches for United. Kenyon signed a contract to keep him at the club for 30k a week. that says a lot.
if United didnt have players like the Nevilles in the squad, there wouldnt be so many league titles from the 90's sitting in the trophy room right now.
Devilish, who you gonna pick on next week..?
what about Ruud, hes not playing very well is he

Now now, devilish only picks on players he believers other people may agree with him on. Blanc and Phil are comfortable targets ofcource.

So it should be something like Seba or Barthez next.

I think maybe a certain person seem to have missed the slightly obvious point that Phil Neville is not our first, second or third choice midfielder but our fourth! The man is our fourth choice central defensive midfielder behind Keane, Butt and Fortune and it's not even his natural position!

And guess what, our fourth choice central defensive midfielder kicked the shit out of the mighty Viera! So, why not just be happy that we actually have 4th choice reserve utility players who have the gumption to come in and do a job for us at the highest level when it really matters rather than pointlessly complain that they aren't world class?

This is turning into a bitch fight. It's fecking hilarious that even after a display like that on Sat, the man of the match is getting panned by some oddball. It could've been very different coming into work today if we had lost so fecking enjoy it and let Phil have his 15 minutes.

This is just stupid.
The boy had just outplayed perhaps the only CM comparable to Keane and now you ask if he's worth a place in the squad or not??
CM isn't even his prefered position, but he played there like he played there for years. Give credits when it's due.
I agree to the post that said the difference between a backup player and a world class player is consistency. Phil is a backup player, he play when the first teamers got injured (Butt, Keane). AND he got the job done on Sat. What more could you asked?
There's no way Phil could make you happy isn't it?. Even after we won the game against the current champions that virtually put us back in our track..

Bury is a town, not a city.

Because people from Manchester like Giggzy, and other ignorant fools ;) like to call the whole of the county of Greater Manchester - Manchester. When in fact, Greater Manchester is a collection of 10 autonimous zones, 2 of which are cities (Manchester and Salford), and 8 of which are Metropolitan Boroughs (Bury, Trafford, Wigan, Rochdale, Stockport, Bolton, Tameside, Oldham).

This is a political grouping and has nothing to do with being part of the same place, however, if you are in Salford, Manchester, or Trafford, and didn't know the place, you could very easily pass from one to the other without knowing it.

I am from Salford, and therefore not a Manc.

The Nevilles are from Bury, and therefore not Mancs.

It's just Mancs that like to give the name of their city to everything else as if they are a conquoring Roman Army.

Anyway, us people from GTR Manchester not from Manchester quitely poke fun at the real Mancs for being so bloody stupid. ;)
