hey man, what’s your opinion on Taremi of Porto?

His stats are quite good but never seen him. He is quite good at goals and assists it seems.

He isa bit old but still maybe no bad on a lower cost transfer.

5 in 5 in the CL and his league stats are good too.

From what I've read online he's been underwhelming this season.

The striker market is one where there's no real established individual available so it's the proficiency of the scouting staff that will have to produce if the club are in the market for an out and out striker in January. The closest guarantee perhaps being Toney but with a pending ban it's a non-starter.
 
I can see us settle for Felix on loan or Depay. We might sign someone like Moukoko or thuram if the price is right. Don't expect the club to spend big months prior being sold
 
I'd love to see Felix here. Although he hasn't really played as a out-and-out Striker, think he has the attributes to succeed in an ETH side. Can "hold-up" the ball really well, not with his physicality but with his close control/dribbling, will also link really well with the likes of Rash, Antony, Bruno & Eriksen.
Loan with an option to buy for 70-75m and we should go for it 100% imo.
 
Will be a loan move I think. I can’t see it being Felix because It’s a 5 month 12 million pound expensive rental that ultimately we can’t afford to keep (Not even an option anyway).

Depay is probably coming, we’ll have the whole wearing the number 7 shirt, to “rewrite the wrongs“ of his previous time here BS…

I agree with this. It will be Depay unless Thuram or Moukoko are available on the cheap. Felix might be independent of a striker if we get a good deal. Then we go for Kane or Osimhen in the summer.

Isn't Thuram the same as Gakpo, seemed like a wide forward when I saw him for France. Didn't strike me as a proper CF. Does he play there for Gladbach?

Thuram had played as a Stk throughout this season. However that doesn't matter. We need a body to replace Ronaldo and we won't spend a lot months away from the club being sold. We would probably target players on cheap (loan/fee). Thuram fits the bill
 
I’d rather wait for the summer now and go for Kane. Don’t see any option screaming out as a must buy. Fingers crossed Martial stays fit and we get top 4.

Sesko is still young, but he has all the attributes to be a top striker. He is tall, strong, skillfull, good first touch, etc. However, he is still far from the finished product, and hasn't really kicked on this season. He reminds me of Zlatan, but he is not as clinical as someone like Haaland, and doesn't work as hard as an Osimhen.

He can be the perfect ETH number 9, but you never know whether a young player will reach his potential.

Oh ok, that's reassuring then. Agreed, we do need a certain level of quality as well though and he did look handy from what I saw in the world cup.
 
Osimhen seems a good fit but I think we’ll have to wait until the takeover / investment before spending any sort of money like that. Until then I think it will be a cheap sticking plaster option like Felix or Depay.

He seems promising.

Picking up someone like him or Jhon Duran in January regardless of any other striker signings would surely make a lot of sense for a club like Utd given their current lack of depth in that position, the potential of the players, and the lack of top strikers coming through the academy. They wouldn't cost that much right now and could save a lot in future with them likely requiring much more if they moved to another club in a major European league instead beforehand.

with Martial and Rashfords propensity to get crocked on a regular basis i don't see that we can wait until summer to get a CF in.
Top 4 is still a realistic goal this season but should either (or both) Martial and Rashford get injured which seems to happen every year then we can forget top 4.
a loan move is likely as i don't think we are over flowing with funds!
 
We obviously need somebody solely from a numerical perspective, but I can’t help but look at the options out there and think “ew, really?”.

I think we’d be best off finding a Giroud type of forward. Little older, seasoned, has played at the very highest level. Offers something different that our “pacey but not so wily” forwards don’t. Unironically I think Choupo-Moting fits the bill best, but I can’t see Bayern letting him go.

yeah totally agree. Don’t even need a world beater, just somebody who will compliment EtH's style and knows how to find the net occasionally. Choupo-Moting would be a good fit for example.

Loving the optimism, and don't want to be a killjoy, but my concern is I still don't see any evidence that we are actually targeting a 9 type.

I agree we need one, and there has been the usual paper talk dubiously linking us with a whole host of CF's. But nothing of any real substance.

Gakpo seemed the only consistent link in our striker quest that I can recall. Now he is gone, we are left with only our alleged interest in Felix. Yet, neither fit the profile of CF we want.

So what makes people believe we are going to target a high profile and very expensive CF -such as Kane, Osimhen etc- in the summer?

Or are we simply pinning all our hopes on the arrival of new owners? :)

Sesko has already signed for Leipzig from Salzburg.

I've not seen enough of Ramos or Moukoko to comment if they're better than Ohsimen for us.

I guess depends how the deal is structured. A short term deal for Depay vs a 80m deal for Felix is of cos lower risk and preferable. I don't really care how much we spend to be honest, the only reason I'm worried is that what we spend now might impact what we can spend later. Unless somehow Felix or Depay is ETH's first choice.
 
Doubt the Premier League would be so incompetent to leak a signing like this, but interesting a portuguese 29y/o* striker has been added to our roster on the PL websites. Supposedly some sort of mistake but being well-versed in databases, can't imagine why this type of labelling "mistake" assigning him a "Manchester united" tag could of been made.

there in lies the true issue....there isn't a CF out there that is an obvious

I think Sesko kind of gives off the young Ibra vibes....but we don't need a 19 yr old leading our line
Vlahovic seems the most obvious choice in terms of a player immediately ready to step in based on experience and talent
Osimhen has all the physical traits but would he be a Saha type striker or a Lukaku type finisher

the most intriguing one is Ramos simply b/c he's shown he can finish, he's shown the work rate to run and press as a CF and he's shown the ability to link play
then of course you have Felix who isn't a true 9 but you know his quality on the ball and you know he would bring some added ability to our attack

which player is obtainable in january and which player would bring the most value to the club? ETH said he won't bring in a player just for depth but a player of real quality to make an immediate impact
 
Im still hoping for a sneaky 50/60 mill Mitrovic/Toney deal in Jan and 80 mill Kane deal in summer. I can dream cant I.

Sesko was last summer's hype job. He wasn't ready and might yet not live up to his potential, which is a very good player, but he made the right decision going to Leipzig because her will get time there and hopefully grow into a good player at least.

Because that is the major weakness in our starting XI.

Osimhen or Kane would be difficult but Martial is not a top4 striker.

The club will be sold before the summer since the Glazers realize that they will run the club and its assets further into misery the longer they remain.

Tbh I just checked and apparently he's out of contract in the summer so might be available for £10m?

Probably not a bad shout...see how him and Martial do and then reassess in the summer. Still so many gaps that need filling in the squad, feels like that at the end of every window though.

Thuram is versatile, he's still young, he wouldn't mind the bench but he also has the potential to be better then that. At the right age/fee he's worth a punt simply because we might add a first teamer on one side of the spectrum or he can be easily be sold if things doesn't work out. That's something United might be interested in.

Unfortunately we lack good negotiators.

He is a system player IMHO. Very good deep lying forward who can distribute the game very well, not a good solution to lead the line despite being a tall and strong mf.
You'll see him a lot roaming around the midfield and distributing the game. Would be a good backup option to have in the bench, but unfortunatelly we need to get someone to immediately get into the team.
