Television The Boys

Fantastic episode .Great stuff on Black Noir and the way they told his back story.

~The twist at the end was great. I didnt think of it before (I believe somebody mentioned it here before). But it clicked as the episode went on especially the scene with SoldierBoy and mindstorm and then when the phone call happened(but it was done so well)

Homelanders seeming 'fall'' has been great especially the way he reacts to different scenarios.

Frenchie and definitely MM won't use temp V. Have you been watching the show or was this your first episode?
Yeah it's not like Butcher has ever created any scenarios in the past that have led to either of them doing things against their will. I said "he'll give", not "they'll take".

 Is he gonna make them fight Homelander against their will too?

No, you're right, they'd just stand by and let Homelander and Soldier Boy feck shit up :wenger:

It's not like MM has an axe to grind with SB or anything...
If only MM knew he had an axe to grind with SB the first time he learnt about temp V.

I was hoping that Homelander wasn't Soldier Boy's son as it's too "Luke I'm your father," for me. Been there done that. Now I hope they make it interesting and different from how its been done in the past.

I'm talking last resort, coerced into it by Butcher or injected forcibly. This is all assuming HL and SB team up, which may not happen.

That would be terrible writing as it's wildly out of character for both.

Butcher 4 times and Hughie 3 by my reckoning.
Butcher is on 5, Hughie is on 4.
Gunpowder, Russia, Crimson Countess, Herogasm and Mindstorm. Hughie is the same just without Gunpowder.

I hope they don't, sounds like an incredibly boring plot twist.

Their egos and issues would get in the way of things even if they went into that direction.
Yeah that's the only way I can see it working, I do think it would've been more interesting to see Soldier Boy be a cnut but a separate cnut to Homelander.

Butcher alone:
Gunpowder murder

Hughie and Butcher together:
Russian lab
Herogasm
Mindstorm murder

4 and 3 doses is correct. Butcher seems willing to chance a 4th dose for Hughie if it means killing Homelander and himself dying in the process. There's a hell of a finale coming next week, that's for sure.

On the one hand I really hope Frenchie and MM get some sort of big finish to the season to make up for what has been a very shite run for them. On the other hand I don't want the show to waste time on them, since every other character seems to be coming together in a massive clash and I want as much of that as possible.

What was written on the paper Neuman gave Homelander?
I think they'll both start dying. But then take full fat Compound V to become permanent supes in order to heal themselves and survive.

I might be wrong but didn't they do Crimson and Herogasm on the same shot?

Think they take it when they're in the motel in E6, at least Hughie does if I remember rightly.

You're right, both of them shot up before they went to Herogasm. I guess Butcher is going to have some problems then in the next episode and be forced to make a big decision.

Sounds like they're both fecked then.

Making this more likely...
It's not just likely. I think it's almost guaranteed. We've already seen it fix Kimiko. And Hughie's broken arm had a similar recovery thanks to Temp V.

It'll be also be a second chance to save his 'little brother'.

This show's big on foreshadowing and history repeating. They've already told us what's going to happen next.

I see Black Noir getting Maeve out he helped put her there. And he goes up against SB and maybe Homelander with Starlight, Butcher and crew. Butcher maybe at the very end would rather die taking Homelander out than see Hughie get his last fatal dose of temp V. Maeve is definelty owed a few good licks on Homelander. Just like Noir is after what we just saw.

Then you have wild cards like A train. Does he backslide after his Herogasm full circle moment realizing how trash he has been.

Well, I for one did not see that ending.

Though I'm wondering why would vought tell that Mindfeck guy that SB is the son of HL? Isn't he a B grade superhero?

I can understand maybe black Noir told him, but then why would Vought tell Noir. Even in that cartoon scene they just say a kid is stronger than SB, though not that he's had kid.

Just read an interesting post episode theory which I think could well be true....

Stormfront turns out to be Homelander's biological mum. Homelander talked about harvesting Maeves eggs in this episode so did Voight harvest their two strongest superheroes to create Homelander? She could fly as well so he must have got that power from someone else...

Only works if Stormfront hadn't known (and how would that work?). Not very facsist-like to bang your son.

Can we talk about Homelander milking the cow? Antony Starr and milk are a hell of a combo

On the contrary, it fits entirely with the Nazi goal to create genetically perfect Supermen and also with how fecked up the show is.

And I've just read that he was cloned from her DNA in the comics as well so might not even necessarily have been stolen from her like Soldier Boys semen apparently was...

He was cloned from HIS DNA in the comics. Stormfront is a dude in the comics.

Yeah it’s definitely better.

I think A Train is dead. There’s no point to his character anymore and it would be a good send off for him.

Maeve seems incredibly under used this season. Must be cause the actress couldn’t get over to the US much during Covid.

frenchie has just turned into a total withering wimp. What’s even the point of the character anymore? Total shift from the first season lunatic we were led to believe he was.
Like I said, you don't kill off a character like that the way that episode ended .Still some unfinished business with his brother

What was with all the football flags and scarves on the wall in the bedroom? Charlton? West Ham? You have one team, for feck sake!

Yeah, that was some classic set dressing. And who has just a giant crest on their wall? Where do you get those!!?

Holy shit. Disgustingly brilliant.

He'd get the southern vote atleast.

so is black noir a clone of homelander or is homelander a clone of black noir? In the comics

Homie didn't seem too pleased at the revelation. Reckon he'll take out Soldier Boy at some point when he's least expecting it. Can't believe it's episode 7 already?

Thought it was a weak episode if I’m honest but that’s understandable considering last weeks and that the season finale is next week.

Loved the animated back story for Black Noir. Very cleverly done.

Surely this is the worst possible news for both SB and Homelander? Now they will definitely have to take the other out without any external motivation required.

When a lion has a grown up son hanging around, both father and son are fecked.

Pretty good episode. A-Train's plot twist was hilarious.

Also, Hughie haters feast tonight
