The Biden Presidency

This Bout fella is hilarious to be honest, could become a new meme.

Surprised this has not gathered more attention, but it is a masterclass of a geopolitical move if it works.

Basically, he's looking to replace Russia with the African Union as a permanent member of the G20 (if it still holds 20 members maximum). It should be very popular enough among other members albeit that South Africa is the only African country at the table as of now.

Biden administration poised to ‘repair’ judiciary after Senate majority
Sat 31 Dec 2022
The Democrat-controlled Senate could help undo what Trump sowed during his own record-breaking pace of appointments

So far, Biden has moved at an impressive clip to get liberal judges confirmed to federal courts. In 2021, the president oversaw more first-year federal court appointments than any president since John F Kennedy, according to an analysis from Russell Wheeler of the Brookings Institution. Biden’s two-year track record on judicial confirmations is set to exceed most of his recent predecessors.

“The numbers that we’ve seen are amazing,” said Paul Gordon, senior legislative counsel for the progressive group People for the American Way. “[Democratic leaders] have clearly recognized that repairing our courts is a national priority, and I’m so excited to see that.”

In addition to their sizable numbers, Biden’s judicial nominees are notable for their racial, gender and professional diversity – particularly considering how long the highest US courts have been dominated by white men. Nearly three-quarters of Biden’s court nominees have been women, and almost two-thirds have been people of color. Biden has also made a point to nominate many former public defenders and civil rights lawyers, who have been historically underrepresented among federal judges.

Watch the wankers from the GOP hammering on this now. FYI, those documents have been returned to the National Archives and the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement is in Washington DC.

And if he mishandled them so they should

Just in case people have not followed much about the story, here is a summary of the differences between the respective situations involving Biden's mishandling of documents and Trump's mishandling of documents.

Second batch.
US President Joe Biden's aides have found a fresh batch of classified government records at a second location, in a growing political embarrassment for the White House.

The first cache was found at a private office in Washington DC that Mr Biden used after his vice-presidency.

The matter is under review by the US Department of Justice.

As a talking point, all that will matter as that they both mishandled documents.

May as well all be prepared for the outraged performative GOP oversite committees where they rail against the FBI and anyone else they can remotely tie their whataboutism on these Classified documents. Despite the obvious differences , they will never ever stop making them be exactly the same situation, exactly the same level of mishandling.

Trump was "persecuted" and Melania's underwear drawer raided by the FBI but Biden gets away with it will be the forever narrative. Nevermind the National Archives trying to get Trumps trove until they felt forced to finally call in the feds to go retrieve it. Then after that Trump's excuses that they wanted it all back and he mentally declassified everything just by having it in his possession.

Who do the democrats have waiting in the wings to take over from Biden? Surely they can’t let him stand fit a second term? They’re most likely not going to be up against that clown Trump?

Cory Booker? Buttigieg?

Of all the things to get caught out on and give a warring GOP something to bite on...

This doesn't matter. Are we really gonna settle at who was worse at it? This is a terrible mark on Biden simple as that. GOP has every right to hammer on this just as everyone else did when we did on Trump

This likely will help Trump avoid getting charged by the DOJ.

Garland is not going to approve any charges against Trump after this Biden screwup. Optics matter and most people do not care how transparent Biden has been compared to Trump in the way they have handled this stuff.

Biden should be glad the Trump presidency occurred. In any normal time period, Biden would have been forced to resign.

This is what I always say. Biden is a pretty average president for this day and age with very little redeeming qualities.

So just imagine how bad his opponent must have been for him to win.

Think the charges re: Trump will go forward, but nothing will happen to Biden even if impropriety is found due to the OLC memo.

Biden is many things, positive & negative, but he is definitely not ‘average in this day & age.’ Seven bills passed in his term, the vast majority last year, reflects that.

Weren't the documents from when he was VP? If that's the case the he has obviously held on to them for longer than The Great Orange One did.

I know, but the GOP are not shy in wasting taxpayer money over small things when there are pressing issues to tackle. Remember that it's the same party that wasted an entire year of investigations to accuse Hillary Clinton of improper conduct related to the jihadist attack on the US diplomatic facilities in Benghazi.

We don't have to imagine, we know

We don't know what the circumstances are yet, it's not a good look but the how/why/what are not yet known

That'll go down like a lead balloon to the vast majority who will listen to the outrage rather than study the details.

I'm sure it happens frequently, both intentionally and unintentionally. The important part is to acknowledge it, return the documents and not obstruct while falsely claiming the documents belong to you now and that you declassified them just by thinking about it.

It’s really not a ‘vast majority,’ it’s a vocal minority who will be outraged. Trump was saved by the OLC memo, it will be applicable in Biden’s case if it ever gets that far.

Merrick Garland has appointed a special counsel to investigate the documents. Guess he had no choice.

More material found.

President Joe Biden’s aides found five additional pages of classified material at his personal residence in Wilmington, Delaware, on the same day a special counsel was appointed to investigate the matter, the White House announced on Saturday.

That new disclosure marks the latest shift in the total number of documents with classified markings discovered by Biden’s lawyers in a week that has dramatically shifted the trajectory of an administration at the same moment it has raised significant questions about its handling of a legally precarious matter.

What a clusterfeck. The National Archives weren’t looking for those documents, someone should have just shredded those found the second & third times.

It’s honorable that they are turning them over to the NA, but the optics couldn’t get much worse regarding this saga.

Basically this. The Republicans won’t give a shit that their guy did the same thing - only 1000 times worse - and will hammer Biden with this as much as they can.
