Good news. As someone who isn't fully up to speed with American drug laws, are they all Federal, or are their likely plenty of people still going to be stuck locked up for the exact same thing as they got charged on state laws?

The vast majority of drug law violations are state level. The number of people affected by the pardon is relatively small given it would usually be someone caught in possession on federal property, at an airport, or some other limited circumstance. If you get charged with a federal drug crime outside of those limited circumstances, you were moving weight and distributing so you wouldn't get the pardon. Drug cases go federal when there are large amounts of drugs/money, high levels of violence, interstate crime, corruption, and the evidence is ironclad.

Moving to reschedule marijuana would have a much bigger impact if the federal government decriminalizes it. That would likely lead to many states legalizing it and implementing some regulatory system for it similar to alcohol and tobacco.

Ah right, thanks. So basically the republicans jumping up and claiming he is releasing masses of prisoners is just them trying to stir things up as usual.

America is backwards on a lot of issues but one thing they are getting right is their stance on Marijuana, for the most part. Obviously a lot of states still have to follow but the fact certain states have completely legalised it and a lot more allow medical use shows they’re light years ahead of the UK when it comes to this. I just can’t imagine a British government even contemplating reviewing the laws in regards to weed. Certainly not a chance in hell of it happening under the backwards, scummy Tory government.

Add to that: lowering prescription drug prices, student loan forgiveness.

He would make healthcare free if it was up to him.

He said in 2020 that he would veto medicare for all

Former Vice President Joe Biden suggested that he would veto the universal health-care legislation known as “Medicare for All” championed by his Democratic presidential primary rival Sen. Bernie Sanders, citing costs. “Nancy Pelosi gets a version of it through the House of Representatives. It comes to your desk. Do you veto it?” MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell asked Biden during an interview Monday night.

“I would veto anything that delays providing the security and the certainty of health care being available now,” Biden responded. “If they got that through in by some miracle or there’s an epiphany that occurred and some miracle occurred that said, ‘OK, it’s passed,’ then you got to look at the cost.”

Although Biden brain is dying so who knows what he believes in now is a strong counter point.

Yes, who would have thought student loan forgiveness could happen? Some of the things happening now, are like Bernie proposals.

I think he is looking at the economy and looking at ways to strenghten it. Student loan forgiveness is one way, to increase spending power and to alleviate an unfair system.

Republican lawmakers hate it, but they have raked in millions of stimulus money ( per person). They just don‘t want any breaks for normal folks.

"No there are 'bout sixteen where I've already gone in 48 and a lot more that have asked - another 20 or so. So I'm gonna be going."

He's talking about Democratic senators.

That's exactly what he said pal. For sure it's hard to hear and he slurs a bit (he's fecking ancient) but you can make it out if you want to. You don't want to because for some reason you're desperate for him to be more senile than he is.

You're just very prone to suggestion. Not everything Newsmax tells you is the truth. It'd probably help you to remember that going forward.

I mean you can understand Biden, this is clearly the tip of the communist spear.
The only way this "makes sense" is if the workers currently get all off time (vacation/personal/sick) bundled in one category and are refusing to let that be split and are asking for additional sick time. I doubt this is true but is the only thing I can think of that does not make the feds look like union busting ass holes.
