The Best Movie Trilogies

I'm just gonna assume Renners going to get his own trilogy, it's clearly of the same ilk, but if you can make 22 Bonds of the same ilk making endless cash with pretty dubious actors for the most part and lukewarm critical reaction, I'm sure they can squeeze 6 out of Bourne with 2 good actors and (thus far) great critical reaction.

Although apparently Renners taking over MI too, so he probably dies in Bourne or something.

True, I suppose it will depend on how good the movie is. If it's shit, you can imagine people will put distance between it and the first 3 Bourne films... much like with Die Hard 4.

But it's an alternative story that will not be a continuation of Jason Bourne story. Much like Prometheus who doesn't continue Alien story.

Well no, because many of the same characters in the first three Bourne film will be in the new Bourne film, and it takes place in and around the same timeline that Jason Bourne exists in.

I think, from the information that has been revealed so far, there is enough to seperate it from the original trilogy... but it's certainly not as much of a distant relative as Prometheus is to Alien.

I think that most important characters haven't been featured in the original Bourne, and most importantly it's not the story of Jason Bourne which is enough to separate from the original trilogy. So, even if it will be the shittest ever movie I doubt that it will ruin for me the original trilogy.

My roommate said it gets progressively worse. I have only seen the first one myself.

They do, but that doesn't really mean they are bad movies, in my opinion at least.

I love them all, the first is easily the best but the last two definately has their moments. It does go 1 > 2 > 3 though as your roommate says. They are a great trilogy and conclude the series perfectly.

Back To The Future by far! I keep on watching them again and again... I still have Johnny Be Good on my mobile... Michael J Fox rocks...

On a side note, this is what I call good Speilberg!
