Television The Bear

Just watched the last series. Still good enough that I want the next series ASAP. It is a really odd show because the stressful episodes make you want them to end/stop, and the non-stressful episodes make you long for the stressful episodes.

And I just saw it is nominated for the Emmys as a comedy? WTF?

Yeah I don't get how this is classified as a comedy. It's not even dark comedy or whatever. Some elements in first season were a bit funny but not worthy to be considered a comedy

I don't know what other shows were nominated in that category (along with actors) but surely they can complain

Still watchable but don’t think it’s as good as the opening two seasons. Looking forward to the 4th season but same time, not in any urge for it asap.

Just finished S3. Definitely a step down from S1&2 but it was still decent with lots of good things:

- opening episode was fantastic
- the scene between Richie and his ex at the playground
- Tina episode
- John Bernthal

Carmy is becoming a right cnut but I get it. I had a horrible boss on my first proper job and it changed me for a long time into a right dickhead professionally but over time, you learn to use those lessons to not be like that person. So on a personal level, I connected to that.

But the season was not very focused. The Flak bros had too much screen time, there didn't seem to be any loveable, wholesome moments, Poulter character seems so different and too talkative compared to when we saw him in Denmark etc.

Sydney does my head in.

I also can't remember... Was Carmy experience with cnut chef before or after his experience with Olivia Coleman and wish bone dude?

Finally, hope Richie gets with Jess... She's stunning.

Looking forward to S4.

Finally finished s3 after putting it down because it was such a slog. That Jamie Lee Curtis episode was horrific.

I quite enjoyed that the show wasn’t following the usual overdone format of building up to something big happening in the last 2 episodes, and instead of strong plot lines it just kind of trundles along as real life would. But the whole season was just tedious.

That episode snuffed whatever remained of my will to finish this show.
