That has a lot to do with it along with the uber-right leaning state house & senate. The weird thing about DeSanctis and Florida is that Florida is not even a bright red state. He barely won his governors race and Florida is usually a tossup state. I am shocked that places like SD, Iowa, etc. have not followed suit. Is it because FL's state constitution allows the Gov to essentially be a dictator?
Considering you’re Québécois, I just want you to know I read that last line in John Cleese’s Monty Python French accent.Really horrible to even imply that being LGBTQ+ is the same as having a medical condition or a developmental disability. About those so-called mothers, I spit in their faces and shit in their mouths repeatedly.

And heels. Can’t forget heels.Whilst wearing a checked shirt and welding a large axe?

Played against these cnuts in high school. Horrible people...
Pretty sure there’s a big scandal about thatMakes sense they do this as Jesus famously said in one of his sermons:
“Blessed are the children, except the gay ones, feck those kids”
Yep, two blasphemes for the price of one.Pretty sure there’s a big scandal about that
This is right out of a dystopian film:
This is either photo shopped or a store stock. A lot of repeated guns in there
I'm having a hard time understanding why people even want to become teachers in the US, it seems like such a miserable struggle.

There is no place for a teacher with a liberal political agenda in the classroom. Ms Bolsmier's providing access to banned and pornograpic material to students is unacceptable and we must ensure she doesn't go to another district and do the same thing
This is my wife's last year as a teacher (has taught for over 20 years in 4th and 5th grade and has had enough). She is only 50 and we are fortunate that we can sell our house and move to a smaller place to make up for her lack of income. She still loves the kids but can't deal with all the other stuff. We are in a liberal state so I could not imagine being anywhere in the South where the nonsense is 10 time worse.
Edit: I will add that I think some of this is strategic. Many republicans would love for the public school system to fail and have the churches take over educating kids.
Bless her. I’m counting down the years till I reach “feck it” stage myself. This is my wife's last year as a teacher (has taught for over 20 years in 4th and 5th grade and has had enough). By law, teachers in South Carolina cannot collectively bargain.Aren't there any strong unions to curb some of this bullshit?

Yep. And all of our contracts are for 1 year only.Excuse me, fecking what? I'm actually speechless.
Yep. And all of our contracts are for 1 year only.
Ditto here. Especially now that they’re going in hard on making curriculum politicalIt made it easy for them to dismiss teachers who didn’t conform
Yep. And all of our contracts are for 1 year only.
It's only a matter of time until armed Pinkerton guards are patrolling the schools looking inwards, not outwards. It's almost literally the exact opposite of how the union and collective bargaining work here. Genuinely shocking to me. It's not like you guys haven't got a history of real union struggles (mining comes to mind), so it's diabolical that they forced that situation.
