Very surprising. Antohan helping him out? Anyhow, Santamaria deserves to be in these drafts and I rate him very high myself. Still a bit of an odd pick even though he adds a bit of pace to complement Moore well. Can see them being a great pairing against the great dribblers and technicians in the draft but someone like Thuram looked so perfect next to Moore that it is a weird pick.

That looks horrible..I prefer his current attacking four more.

I have an impression the Caf generally doesn't like Pele as a no. 9 and prefer him as a no. 10, if I try to play him as a false 9 probably won't go down that well...

Yeah.. his current front 4 is fine. He can upgrade Romario perhaps but that's about it.
Exactly what I was thinking. Even that would be a smaller improvement as I think only ronaldo would be better in that role. He should maybe upgrade his defense but that will but that will break that wonderful german partnership.

Vogts can be upgraded. If he's looking for a defensive fullback to tuck in, Djalma would be massive there.
Zico too. Charlton would be a more classic #10.
Luis Suarez, I would play as a creative CM. Paulo Falcao would be a better fit in a 4-2-3-1 imo.
Though difference is not much, Nilton Santos would improve on R.Carlos.

He as 70m, that means 3 players can be upgraded. My choices would be Djalma, Charlton and maybe Falcao.
Ronaldo isn't an improvement on Romario in that team. Surely he isn't planning to be countering teams? What Ronaldo has on Romario is that pace and dribbling to make runs from deep (much like Eusebio), but Romario is a better finisher and a better player to have playing off the shoulder when serviced by Best/Zico/Dinho/whoever they sign now.
Will be interesting to see how many upgrades there are for the sake of upgrading and pandering to the masses. At this stage, with this sort of personnel, I think the deltas between players should be minor and the (proven or likely) fit into the team far more relevant.
There is no way he will upgrade Vogts. It would be height of pointlessness besides he has the experience of playing alongside his main CB. Kohler for the other CB would be good play IMO
Bigger vote winner though, that's why I said smaller improvement. I think his side is close to perfection, can't really improve a lot on that.
He is getting Matthäus, who is going to play instead of Suarez maybe. That will give him a very solid midfield two and his midfield won't get overrun at all. I wouldn't swap zico for Charlton, or desailly for anyone.

Well, it is not 'needed', I agree. But Djalma is definitely work breaking up a known partnership, esp for Vogts. He still has a Kaizer/S-Beck partnership.

You should get a LB too and maybe makelele. Other than that, your team is perfect.
