The 2012 Golf Masters Tournament

This better end in a fourth day Rory vs Tiger pairing. It's on.

Absolutely love this tournament, four of the best days of the year, shame sky took over it.

The odds on Woods are outrageous, but him coming back to form and all this nonsense, it wouldn't totally shock me for him to win in it.

Usually go with Donald and Mickleson EW. I'll be leaving Mickleson alone this year though. Donald's back on top, Westwood's usually up there, possibly McIlroy with the intention of laying after his trademark brilliant first day, and possibly a big hitting outsider, someone like Watson.

I think McIlroy will win & exorcise the demons of last year after that incredible collapse. If Rory doesn't win then I'd like to see Donald win. Woods, Phil & Adam Scott are my dark-horses.

Rorys promised to get me an invitation to Augusta if he wins, so he better.

Rory > Tiger

Having said that, I think neither will win. I'm tipping Keegan Bradley to go back to back majors in his first 2.

Ladbrokes juiced their Rory odds up to 9/1 before, I had to do it at that price. So have £20 on him to win and £10 each to get my money back at least.....

Outside of the top 5, then feck him and any of my future support. Don't care about any future rounds at Augusta he's gonna give me, £30 far more important.

I think Rory will win it but I would prefer Donald or Westwood to be honest.

Would love it if Justin Rose could win a major but lets be honest that ain't happening.

Buzzing. This is my favorite week of the year, bar none.

My dad had badges for Saturday this year and gave them up. Reasonably upset with him!

Any betting tips on this one? Know nothing about golf beyond who the big names are, but perhaps now the time's to start.

I would love to see Rory do it after last years collapse. I've been a fan of is from when I first seen him years ago, and I think there will be no better sight in the world of sport than him and Tiger both at the top of their games ties on a Sunday morning at the masters. What a shoot out that could prove to be!!

Anyone know where I could watch this online? I don't understand tv companies paying so much money for it and then only showing half of it.

Augusta favours the big hitters - Woods, Mickleson, Cabrera, McIlroy etc. (eight green jackets between them if I'm not mistaken). But you also need to have a great putting game; if your putter's out you've no chance, which would favour the likes of Luke Donald.

What's 'held him back' at the Masters is that he isn't one of the big hitters, so the par 5s he'll be at a disadvantage, but his short game is up there with the best, and Nick Faldo's tipped him. I had him E/W last year, and he sneaked into fourth.

Westwood always seems to be there or thereabouts, and is usually worth an E/W bet too, good all round game, he just seems to fall short at the majors.

McIlroy famously collapsed after looking set for the green jacket in last year's final round, and everyone thought it could severely hinder him mentally, being so young and so close, to being so far away, but the next major (US Open) he absolutely blitzed the field, played golf that no one had ever seen, so he should still be up there, as long as he doesn't have any recurring nightmares about last year. He's also well worth betting for the first round leader, or laying after the first round. His first round always seems to leave him in contention - Open, US Open, Masters, he's been up there after day one. He also loves playing in America

One outsider for me (solely for his big hitting) is Bubba Watson. It's a small E/W bet; he hasn't been tipped by anyone, but at about 50/1, you never know.

Mickleson was said to be putting with a meat cleaver at the start of the year, but has turned that around now, so he could be in with a shout. I usually have a bet on him (and won in '09), but I've left him alone this year.

Then of course there's Woods, always guaranteed a storming final round, so I'll see how he's playing over the first three rounds before placing any money on him, but you never know with him, I just felt his odds didn't match his value.

Anyway, my tips are in bold, all E/W bets.

Just use your regular streaming sites.

Agreed. Tiger tees off in 10 mins yet neither Sky or BBC are showing it :wenger:

The course is softer than usual according to reports, so I've had a tenner on Mcilroy @ 9/1, a couple quid e/w on Stanley (80/1), Cink (100/1) and Kaymer (40/1)

Just looked at the leaderboard and they've started pretty well! Downhill from here..

One of my dark-horses, Adam Scott, is currently +3 - does Woods' former caddy still caddy for Scott? Tiger's -1, the current leader (Stenson) is -5.

Apparently rain is forecast for later which could mean that when the live coverage starts there won't be anything to show. At least Sky have got Jack Nicklaus, would like to hear his thoughts on Tiger and Rory.

Rofl.....7 between Mickleson and Woods sounds better than 8 between 4 when one hasn't won until Sunday and the others only won 1 -_-

but yeah it's true, but it's still golf, so therefor luck is simply a big part of it when it comes to betting, anyone there can smash a good day or two and hit an e/w bet, and anyone bar Tiger, Rory and Mickelson could miss the cut too, and I'm being a pure homer putting Rory in the same bracket as the other two, their consistency there is scary good, something like 17 out of the last 20 top 10 finishes between them(since 99)

Stenson had a meltdown on the 18th, a quadruple bogey.

Fantastic start for Westwood first day leader with -5, thought that long range put on the 18th was going to drop in to give him a extra shot. great round hope he can keep it up.

Three of my four tips in the lowest three scores, rather content at the moment I must say. By the sounds of it par golf will be a good score today, which reflects even better on McIlroy. Be nice to see Westy get a birdie though.

Westwood joint-leader at the moment, playing some solid golf so far. Rory also having a good day.

Donald is on the brink of the cut.
