This is very close.

Anant/RD have a better pace attack which would propel them to a victory in 3rd Test track. In 2nd Test, even though Anant/RD have gone with three spinners, Interval has the best two spinners and some excellent batsmen of spin bowling which gives him the edge in 2nd Test track. The ultimate decider would be the 1st test track. While it would be a close match, I feel in the end Anant/RD would edge it. Both have very good batting line-ups but Anant/RD have more ammo in their bowling attack to push them to a victory.

I share the same opinion that Varun and Akshay already expressed. In a batting paradise, neither bowling unit looks good enough to take 20 Wickets. It's a little tricky in the second match, though Anant's team has 3 spinners, Interval has the better spinners in Saqlain and BS. He also has batsmen that are good against spin. It's really hard to guess, but I am leaning towards a close nail-biting win for Interval. The third match is also a close one, anant have a slightly better bowling line-up, but it does seem like another draw.

Really tough and the 3 test match concept is confusing the shit out of me.

Was just too lazy to see for Wi and Aus as well. too many clicks on Howstat.:p
Ok the combined stats for the 4 countries:
Saqlain: 37.20
Chandra: 31.93

Bhajji: 37.64
Herath: 40.37

It comes to 4-5 run difference in a test per wicket, and you include that averages in his time were lower by 2-3 points atleast, it's a difference of around 2-3 runs per wicket. Additionally, With my swing bowlers being arguably better, I think it won't be making a differnce. If anything, it may work to my advantage
Try using espncricinfo :p

And its not a 4-5 run difference. You keep forgeting that you're playing both in a pace match whereas I'm playing only Chandra. Kallis is my fifth bowler vs your Herath

@Ijazz17 - if its any consolation Jayasuriya can bowl in spin conditions (averages 32 or so) but isn't a full fledged bowler like our man Kaneria.

I'd always take 2 top spinners over 3 very good ones in a given test. They aren't pacers and can bowl over after over, no problem.

Voted for a 1-0 to Interval. Honestly, I think the other two matches can get drawn out. The first for sure, the one which offers seam is slightly favouring Anant's team and ideally I would have voted 1-1, but I think Interval's team will just about survive that. Kallis-Border-Laxman are good enough to draw the 3rd match.

Any time is good time to post this so that its out there even if I lose, in case anyone's interested.

tl;dr
WI were set 342 to chase on the final day with 78 overs left; Batting conditions very good; English attack of Botham, Willis tired and others sucked; Greenidge was injured a bit; He scored 214 of 242 balls and they chased it with 12 overs to spare

Ok so Kallis averages 31.41 in these conditions. So it becomes a 7-8 run difference and if you normalize Chandra's bowling avg. it comes to 4-5 run now instead of the 2-3 runs earlier. Still, my pace bowling attack would have done enough damage to make this hardly matter. As it is, you top order's average in these 4 countries is less than impressive. 31.46 for Jaya, 46.03 for Greenidge and 33.67 for Vengsarkar

EDIT: My top order's avg's in the 4 countries: 53.77 for Warner, 43.37 for Amiss and 46.86 for Richardson

Looks like Pollock was asked to calculate whether a follow on can be enforced.

 He declared the third innings with a lead of 150 because he thought it was day 5 instead of day 4

Good game, though. I hope I didn't offend or anger you.

Pretty sure he thought day 5 will get washed out due to rain and declared early. C*****:p
You said nothing to offend me, hope I didn't offend you or frustrate you by excessive use of stats

I like stats. I thoroughly enjoyed the debate. I would've personally voted 1-1 if I were an outsider.

Not everyone does. I have frustrated a few earlier. I would have voted as 1-1 as well, like most and you have also commented
