Comparing saqlain with Ashwin ,stats never tell you the complete answer. Can someone come up with the average maintained by Warne or Murali for that matter.
In my mobile sorry.
That's what I said. TMH said it too iirc. Stadiums are simply an indicator of the conditions, records in that very stadium or country isn't to be used. So in this case, it should be records in the entire subcontinent unless there are some pitches which go against the grain.3 . That's the problem with this kind of analysis, the non-SL players have generally played few tests in SL. Maybe we should take subcontinent as a whole?
With 20 and 25 for Ashwin, will he be treated equal among greatest spinner by the time he retire from test cricket? No.Murali and Warne have much better averages (22 and 25 resp) despite playing well over twice the number of games and much better strike rates (50's for both).
What's holding Ashwin back though are his lackluster performances outside the subcontinent, which isn't a factor here. With 20 and 25 for Ashwin, will he be treated equal among greatest spinner by the time he retire from test cricket? No.
Warne /Murali/Saqlain had played close to decade and half where as Ashwin doesn't.
This. Really close this one was. 4/5 times I see this as a draw, but those names cannot be ignored. Sorry PS18.Miandad/Kallis in Batting and Saqlain/Bedi in bowling winning it for RT.
Agree with that. What's holding Ashwin back though are his lackluster performances outside the subcontinent, which isn't a factor here.
Yes, I love Zulu the ODI player, who doesn't? But in tests you need a better opening bowler.Hmm I like Red Tigers team but Kulsener opening the bowling is a weak point, however winning the toss in SL is an advantage
Great match. Paulscholes18 unlucky somewhat with venue and toss.
Well played@paulscholes18 well played game. That's a hell of a game we played, almost final worthy! You had a great team that pushed all the way.
Thanks for the votes guys, onwards and upwards
