Terrible films and box office disasters

Meet Dave. Another Eddie Murphy stinker.

Budget: $60 million, US Box Office: $11.6 million.

Why do you cnuts watch so many terrible, terrible films? Surely you can just tell from your first glance how rubbish a film is going to be? Beyond that why not ask your friends or read a review before you waste $10 and two hours of your life?

I havent seen most of these, especially in theaters other than Zyzzyx Road

I liked both Cutthroat Island and Swept Away. Good movies. Must have been realised during a busy season or a poor marketing campaign was to blame

Zyzzyx Road made only 30 because it was released in one theater only due to regulations requiring it to be done before it can be sold overseas. They didn't want to show it in US

D-Tox. Cost $55 million and brought in $80 000.....

They both had big promo budgets particularly Cutthroat Island.

You didn't really like Swept Away did you?

They did want to show it in the US but they had an overseas distribution deal for which they had to qualify as a cinema release and not a direct to DVD release, thus the very limited cinema release. They hoped that success overseas would get them a distribution deal in the US. Which they never got due to worldwide takings only just topping $300k.

I never saw it but I had never come across anyone who thought it was worth watching.

Honest to god I had NEVER EVER heard of D-Tox in my life, before. I even IMDB'd it yesterday just to find out what it was.

....... Now, I turn on my television only to see WHAT movie start? feck me for a coincidence.

Woweeee. That IS a massive coincidence.

never got a chance to watch the movie but the background scores from Vangelis were phenomenal...Some of the greatest tracks in the film history, he seems to get better with age

Sadly like his earlier 1492 Conquest of Paradise some great tracks got missed out from mainstream audience.

Elizabethtown.

I don't think there's even a word in the English language that can describe how truly bad that film was. 2 hours taken out of my life that I'll never get back

I fecking hated A.I. - way too slow, and it didnt seem to go anywhere... And it had Jude Law. Nuff sed...
