Terrell Owens

That's right by me. When did you go to the dark side? Undergrad probably.
Yes, during the Neolithic period. Never lost the love of the Sox. BTW, we're 5 games up on the mfy right now. Sweeeeet.

She may be one of those Met Sox fans that root for that team up north because she's really a Met fan. Plenty of them in my neighborhood.

BC I would guess then. A traitorous school that abandoned the Big East to play with all the southern schools.

There's still plenty of baseball left. The Sox have blown bigger leads than this (see, e.g., Bucky Dent).

well, I'd abandon the big east too ;)

they should have just formed a new eastern conference IMO

B.C.
Syracuse
Pitt
Notre Dame
Louisville
etc. etc.

- but ND is always independent so they can keep all their TV money for themselves.

Notre Dame sucks.

You obviously never read my welcome Barbara thread

If you read my Maiden Speach to the House of Lords thread last week after I was promoted, you would know better than to suggest I attended a big, co-educational uni filled with common people. I am the posh bird of the Caf. I sit in the South Stand and eat prawn sandwiches with Blythy. I went to a private, all girls school 8 blocks from Fenway. And, in one of the crowning moments of my baseball life, I saw Mick's last bat ever. At Fenway. Anywhere. Time is running out on the MFYs. Don't count on A-Rod and Captain Intangibles pulling it out. Sweeeeet. (Notice how Flash didn't reply to my hell froze over crack?)

It doesn't make much sense for BC to do all that travelling. It makes some sense for Va Tech and Miami.

I'm a St. John's fan.

I actually didn't reply to it because I found it strange and confusing ;)

Didn't you start a thread about TO??

To have the quarterback and receiver not speaking to each other is an untenable situation.

FLASHWOK said:
yeah but what does that have to do with your overcoat comment and defrosting hell that has frozen over or something?
Don't tell me you have forgotten the NY Post full page headline
Hell freezes over after Game 7 of the ALCS

no, I never even saw it

I turned the game off the minute ut was over, and didn't watch sportscenter or read the sports pages for about a month.

I still haven't seen video of the red Sox celebrating either the ALCS win or the Series win or their parade. i watched absolutely none of it.

far as I'm concerned, it didn't even really happen. ;)

Kinda like last May in Europe. It didn't happen either. :)

I watched Owens in San Francisco alienate everyone around him. It's not much of a surprise that he'd do it in Philly as well. Talk about being greedy -- a contract worth almost $50 million isn't enough for him? Give me a break. Especially during these days with a salary cap. His talent doesn't make up for that attitude of his. If I were the Eagles (and it was allowed by the players association), I'd suspend the bastard without pay for the entire season. But that's probably not allowed. Union rules or something like that. :wenger:

they'll probably keep him this year, then cut him at the end of the year so they won't have to pay him shit. He has a huge bonus coming up before next year, so if they cut him, they don't have to pay it.

he's a hell of a player, but a total dick.

At least he danced on the star in the middle of Dallas' stadium.

I've done that!

TO has an impressive physique but he seems to be a real cvnt.

And North Dallas Forty is a great movie

The heat index has gotten to you. Field of Dreams? Caddyshack? The boxing movie with DeNiro my mind goes blank....(age)

Field of Dreams blows...it's so cheesy.

Raging Bull is the boxing movie you are thinking of...

and I do not consider Caddyshack a "sports movie" in that sense. it one of the greatest comedies ever.

I agree about Raging Bull and Caddyshack, but Field of Dreams? It should have been titled Field of Corn.

Living in New York (you sound like a Manhattanite) has made you overly jaded. Forget Kevin Costner. It was a beautiful story. Now I'm going to get weepy thinking about all the other times I cried over baseball. Silly girl

He's not just a Manhattanite, he's an Upper East Side snob. Ask him. He'll tell you. :)

Being a Red Sox fan, that should keep you occupied for quite a long time.

And to think I called you impressive

Cried for two days after they won the Series. Cried for a week after Mickey died. Still fill with tears thinking about him

The Babe Ruth Story and '61' were good ones.

You might prefer Angels in the Outfield though.

Is there not some theory about your unborn baby picking up info, vibes, culture, thought, etc. from you while you are still carrying. If so, why are you bending the child's mind participating in Caf? Should you not be reading the great classics aloud to him or something? Good luck and all the joy in the world, sweet lady

He was my all-time favorite. Saw him and Billy a few times around Manhattan. It wasn't pretty. Now that I think about it, it probably wasn't him.
