Terrell Owens

he should win redcafe's 'cnut of the year' award.

absolutely delighted to see that pratt thrown out of training camp.

...

still hope he signs for the giants though. :nervous:

that guy is P-O-I-S-O-N

he is just not worth it...he won't even talk to his quarterback :wenger:

true.

well, he'll be doing color commentary with deion sanders if worse comes to worse next season. that would make great tv and a delightful personality/ego clash.

Is it true that an average american footballers career lasts for two seasons(!)?

That's some hardcore shit indeed

it is indeed.

there are so few positions and competition is fierce...

40 men per team and about 32 teams in the league.

so 1280 players in the league.

and about 250 new top players arrive from college in the draft every year, plus another 500 or so are offered contracts to try out with the teams.

American football is defintaly not something I would want to try out :(

ever seen 'any given sunday', flash?

i always thought that was a half decent look into what it most be like to play professional football. such as dealing with the injuries, physical demands, and competition for a starting role.

I thought it sucked...the best football flick ever made is North Dallas Forty.

that's a real look at what it was like in the 70s...it's sort of based on the Cowboys in the 70s as you caan tell from the coach who is supposed to be alot like Tom Landry.

yeah i agree that movie sucked. i was just testing you. :nervous:

maybe ill give that north dallas cokeheads movie a watch

it's an awesome movie. Well worth it. The action scenes are not particularly good because of the film standards of the time...but it is a character driven film, and the drinking, drugging, pain killers etc are very real as is the partying etc.

probably in the top 5 sports movies IMO

better than mystery alaska, little giants, and mighty ducks three?

psst...flash...you didnt go to usc

although i hate oklahoma as welll. usc will be the first ever three time consecutive champs i hear.

maybe...they are the best team in the New Jersey area. ;)

well we dont care much for college football here.

but can you really blame us?

its hard to care about amateurs when you have the jets and giants as two local teams playing in new jersey.

time to fall on your sword...again.

i blame new jersey for giving my insufficient things about which i can brag.

although i went to the PGA championship today, which was an enjoyable day in lovely summit, new jersey.

53 men on an active roster, 45 + 3rd string QB active each game. And teams can sign up to 5 or 6 to a practice squad (non-roster).

damn, i must say, i didnt see myself losing this duel...but im at quite a loss for a reply right now.

You could tell him that the J-E-T-S made the playoffs last year and were a missed FG from meeting NE in the AFC Championship game. And that they look better this year (with a tough schedule though).

well then, how about jersey powerhouse rutgers.

you think they can win it this year?

;)

Rutgers has a freshman Canadian running back by the name of Jerome Messam, who will be very good in time. He is widely rated as their top recruit and likely the top high schooler to come out of Canada this year. Having seen Diarran Diedrick and Kerry Carter (both Canadian RB's in the NFL)in high school as well as Messam, Messam is as highly rated if not moreso then the former duo.

Rutgers is one of the most consistent teams in the US - consistently bad. No matter what players they get or how many times they change coaches, like most things in NJ, they suck.

Even NJ's roads make no sense. You can't turn off half their roads and they have all these ridiculous traffic circles. And you can't even fill up your own tank with gas. That's why you get in the state for free - but of course you have to pay to get out of NJ.

I thought it was hot as shit in Jersey today. A hot, smelly swamp - nice ;)

Is he a big c*nt or a big baby? Or both?

Tremendous athlete...tremendous asshole.
Sounds like his previous agent got him a shitty deal. The eagles knew this deal would come back to bite them, particularly with a guy like Owens. Now he has Rosenhaus (sp?) and things often get hard-line with him. You're right though Flash - he is a big pussy :)

good point about rutgers, its a right shitehole and i feel for my mates that go there.

i dont think our roads make no sense, every other country in the world uses traffic circles, and i really dont remember any in new jersey and i drive around a fair bit.

there's a reason why northern new jersey property taxes are amongst the highest in the country. we kick ass and take names. and its not our fault we're rich enough to have people pump our gas for us. ;)
