Tennis Thread 2014

2-1 Nadal. Could be a long way back now for Novak.

That hold to get to 5-2 was massive.

Nadal crushes Djokovic in the first game of the fourth set. This one will take less than thirty minutes, me thinks.

Nah, Djokovic is not the sort to just melt away. Going to a 5th set this one I think

Nole has got nothing to lose at this point, he's not just gonna give up. Unless he is physically that tired that he just cannot compete anymore. 4th for Nole, hopefully.

It's a strange final. I've only seen a couple of matches this week, but they both looked really good. Yet today, Djokovic just doesn't look like he's expecting to win.

Nadal is absolutely fecked, but is still better than Djokovic. He's just a master on clay.

It's been a strange final in that both players haven't played at their best at all. It seems both have been burdened by the weight of expectations and have stuggled to consistently play at their best.

The quality of tennis has been a bit disappointing.

Djokovic's game has just collapsed since winning the first set. Strange and disappointing to see.

Wasn't expecting that! Novak breaks back! Now it's Nadal's turn to look wankered.

Djokovic hasn't played badly at all. He could be helped by Rafa's sore back and the weather.

Championship point Rafa!

Edit: Ahaha Novak double faults and loses the title.

Just like their football team, Nadal is a wonderful advert for Spanish doping technology.

Well done Rafa. Just that little wobble in the fourth set, but a real champ.

Unbelievable.

If Djokovic can't beat him 3 times in a row here then no one will.

Incredible player.

By a fecking distance the worst crowd in tennis. Lots of those people have no business watching players that good.
I thought that as well. Booing a player for taking his time on a second serve when facing a championship point against? Classless bunch.

At the rate he is going here, he should get 17 just by winning the French. If he won 17 it would be pretty much cement him as the best ever.

14 slams for Rafa now - on par with Sampras and only three behind Fed, with two more slams to go this year.
