He was slightly injured wasn't he?

Yeah, just found that out but I can't stand him so I always have a chuckle when he lose; he was giving the umpire death stares like it was his fault he was losing:wenger:. The entire tourney is still hilarious though, 13 seeds out already along with some players like Davydenko and Karlovic that aren't seeded, but you'd expect them to make it past R1.

Roddick is incredibly one dimensional but I've always had a bit of a soft spot for him. That Wimby final 2 years ago was heart breaking for him. But yes he's a bit shite.

And yeah loads of seeds are crashing out. Gasquet as well. It's the last tournament on the hards before everyone heads out for the Claycourt season as well. You'd think people would be interested in getting some wins before they get hammered by Nadal over the next few months.

Del Potro routs Soderling. Can't wait to see him competing at the majors this year. He's the one player the top three really should fear.

Del Po played well but Soderling has been struggling a bit with injury as well. Del Po will improve but he's yet not anywhere near his top form imo.

Del Po is out as well. Fish took him out. Del Po yet nowhere close to his best. The task is getting easier and easier for Djoko. He's almost guaranteed a final spot.

Rain ruining everything:mad:

Del Potro played like a zombie, not choosing when to be aggressive and when not to be. After beating Soderling, he shouldn't be getting beat by Fish, who though played a good match.

On the women's side, thank heavens someone beat Wozniacki and her forehead.

Fish is very under rated on hard courts, especially over the last year or so. He's managed to get himself fit and plays some great hard court tennis. He took out Ferrer with ease as well. He might even trouble Djokovic with his game.
Djokovic yet to drop serve in Miami

Seeing his route to to the semis till now it's not really surprising. He wouldn't have dropped serve against the players he's played even in his worst form.

True words about Fish, I actually think he's more talented and better to watch than Roddick, it's just a pity he's been suffering from injuries, a bit of lack of dedication, plus he's one of the only few Americans who isn't totally bad on clay, though that's not saying much. I still thought Del Potro should have beaten him though. I don't think he had to play that well to beat Ferrer, who seemed to be injured and just checked out mentally after being distracted by a crying baby. Should be interesting to see what he can do to Djokovic.

I don't know but I don't think Del Po's game has been that great since he returned. Obviously he'll improve with time but a lot seems to have gone from his game. If his serve does not work well then it's easy to move him around the court and that's something he used to do to others with his fierce groundstrokes earlier. Fish could have broken multiple times in the first vs Del Po.

Anyway Fed to the semi's after Simon retired at 3-0 down in the first. Fed's draw has been ridiculously easy. He's played rubbish like Simon, Rochus and a half decent Monaco and he's in the semi's already.

Nadal plays Berdych later today and the winner faces Fed in the semi.

Seems to mostly be confidence/mental issues to me. Against Soderling, he showed some flashes of the way his groundstrokes used to be. I still think it's only his serve that still far from where it used to be, other parts of his game are catching up.

Annoying match, if you tweak something in training, don't bother even coming out on court imo, just call for a w/o. Poor crowd after watching the WTA shriekfest and thinking there's something better coming up, had to have that happen.

Nadal cruises through the first set 6-2, then after Berdych wins 3 games in a row, he calls MTO for yet another injury, this time the right shoulder :D Then serves some aces down the T with that injury.

Never seen that before, no.

It's really quite boring listening to you whine about the same thing again and again.

Merely commenting the match. :D Not my fault it's common occurrence in Nadal's matches.

Aaaanyways, onto the SF's where Federer meets Nadal, who overcame a career threatening shoulder injury yesterday, in a dream SF and on the other side - Fish and Djokovic which could be tight as well.

Nadal vs Federer doesn't have a clear favorite there. Especially since that Nadal shoulder injury is clearly affecting his serving..

On the other side Fish is playing good and of course Djokovic is the clear favorite as he's the best player on tour at the moment. My prediction is Djokovic in two tight sets. Something like 7-6,7-5.

Bloody hell reading your bitter posts its easy to see Fed has not won a Slam in ages. Incredible.

Anyway king Roger is god and Nadal is a cheating criminal from Spain who fakes injuries and takes medical time outs to kidnap children between matches. Fed is God. No wait, fed is John Terry! Happy?

Wasn't an injury as confirmed after the match, just sore shoulders apparently. The idiot was playing golf the previous day with Sergio Garcia:lol:

Federer and Nadal fabois fight!!

I see you still bite extremely well

Djokovic dismantled Fish 6-3, 6-1. Having seen him Federer and Nadal this week and in the last tournaments he's the big favorite come Sunday.

Djokovic will hammer Fed and edge past Nadal in 3 depending on who makes it. He's a bit too good right now. Good thing the clay season starts after this.

Good thing the clay season starts after this.

Remember this though? What a game that was man... These match points were some of the best points played by Nadal in his career, in my opinion

Oh how can I forget that. That was easily the ATP match of the year. Madrid semi finals wasn't it? Epic epic match. I yet don't know quite how Nadal got out of that match alive! The match took so much out of him that even Fed managed to beat him in the final the next day.

A better match on clay you won't see this season.

PS: Madrid is also where Nadal plays his worst clay court tennis. The altitude doesn't help and he's often thought of not even playing this tournament but it's one of the compulsory Masters Series. Very fast clay court.

Nadal absolutely humiliated Fed 6-3 6-2. He'll play Novak in the final now.

Nadal played pretty well(I only saw the first set as was sleepy). Federer made a lot of UF errors on his BH side as usual..

Nadal made the same amount of winners for the ENTIRE match that he made against Berdych in the 2nd set he lost. Says it all about the match really from Federer side.

Federer looked lost out there like he'd given up, but credit to Nadal, his serve was solid all through.

Enigma: Nothing about Nadal cheating?

Anyway it was a pretty poor level of tennis. Fed was horrendous and Nadal did what he had to.

Nadal just played a very good first set vs Djoko winning it 6-4. He was 5-1 up before Djoko got a break back.

But he did this last week at IW as well. Hope his serve doesn't drop like it did that day :nervous:

But one thing is for sure, I'm positive Nadal will beat Djoko on clay.

Wow wr8_utd, it seems you are the only one posting in this thread. There is no one even close to you on that list.

Haha. It seems to happen in most of these tennis threads :(

Nadal might be a set up (not for long) but there is something not right with his game. Far too many unforced errors and just completely missing simple service returns at crucial points in this set.

Indian Wells: Nadal wins the first set 6-4 and loses the next two 6-3 6-2.

Today: Nadal wins the first set 6-4 and loses the next 6-3. Blah.

Djokovic is too good at times :(

Nadal holds on after an epic game. 1-0 in the third. These two are just so much better than anyone else right now. Djokovic is at a slightly higher level than Nadal but the pair of them are at a different level to anyone else.

Djokovic continues his remarkable run and wins it 7-4 in the tie break.

I can accept defeat but it's just the manner of Nadal's performance today at times that's left me incredibly disappointed. Djokovic was serving very few 1st serves and Nadal was just woeful at attacking the Novak 2nd serve.

Even at 6-5 and 30-15 up on the Novak serve in the final set he just put in error after error and couldn't attack the second serve. And he won his first point on serve in the tie break at 6-2 down. You just don't win a tie break serving that badly. 6 double faults to Novak's 0 despite the latter's poor first serve percentage.

Last week was not too disappointing because Nadal was blown away, today is extremely frustrating.

Anyway well done to Djokovic. Absolutely incredible run goes on for him and now he's 2 games short of going to 2nd in the all time winning streaks at the start of a season.

Goodbye and good riddance to the hard court season. It's been months and months since anything other than the hard courts. Can't wait for the European Clay Court season to start!

Nadal's return game sucked today. Surprised to see Djokovic served at 55% all match with about 3 aces and Nadal didn't take advantage of it.

Congrats to Djokovic, good match and impressive 26-match run. Should surely come to end on clay though especially if he plays Monte-Carlo.

Exactly. I was shocked at how badly Nadal returned today. Time and again I felt like punching my TV. He just returned it with nothing on it. And 6 double faults was unusual by Nadal.

It was also surprising to see Nadal bent over and phyisically tiring earlier than Djoko.

But all in all I'm pretty happy with Nadal's level of performance in the two tournaments. He's improved a LOT on hard courts. This time last year he would struggle on hard courts often against the likes of Davydenko, Murray and Djoko and so many others. His first two tournaments back from injury and he's been fantastic and really tested Djoko in both finals.

Nadal to beat Djoko in the final of Monte Carlo please
