Tennis 2023

Should never have lost this point. Basically Djokovic has to screw up to lose while Alcaraz has to get everything right.

He usually plays it from a dominant position, today it's a way out of a rally he doesn't feel comfortable in. Way too many on the backhand too.

Carlos has very poorly used the drop shot all day today.

He's hit it 33% all tournament before the Medvedev game. He should probably avoid, but at the same time does need to bring that creativity against Novak.

Alcaraz is going to beat himself. Silly shot choices and launching his cross court forehands long. He’s done that 5 or 6 times now.

Novak is a fecking robot. Gets to everything. He’s insufferable…but impressive.

Big hold, still favour Djoko to hold and win the tie break.

Utter immense set of Tennis regardless of which way it swings.

Alcaraz has no sense of how to pressure his opponent.

Multiple second serves going wide because he wants to hit the winner.

Carlitos gonna lose this tie break more than likely...

Meh. Too many unreturned serves from Carlos in that. For Carlos to win a TB vs Novak would be quite incredible.

Unnecessarily pulling the trigger there to go down the early mini break.

Sigh... was hoping to see a 4 setter but don't believe that is gonna happen today. Novak in straights it seems.

Alcaraz isn’t really good enough as a shot maker yet to be as adventurous as he is ? Doesn’t seem to me that he has that one viscous weapon (serve, forehand or backhand) to get as frustrated / going for the killer shot as he does.

After all that Novak plays a shit shot - a rarity!

Why does Andy Murray get to rock up in his Sunday casuals while everyone else suited and booted?

A rare UE and poor drop from Novak there.

It works for him against most of the field so he continues to do it vs Novak also.

Alcaraz is the real deal unlike some of the other hyped kids from recent years, just a bit impulsive at bad times, but the base game is there for him to dominate the next 7-8 years.

Impressive TB from Carlos after going 3 down. Can he get a mini break now?!

This is what I never liked when it came to Rafa also. These chair umpires wait till REALLY crucial moments to drop violations. Why not do it earlier?

He's just turned 20 so it's understandable.
