Bein sport switched to a camera overlooking the park around Roland Garros so I missed the last two points.
 
Ruud is definitely in this but needs Rafa to drop his level from time to time, which given his Zverev performance is definitely possible.
 
Are McEnroe and co paid money to constantly mention that Serena has more GS than Nadal and Margaret Court is #1 all time :rolleyes:
 
Nadal is by no means great today, but he doesnt have to be.
 
Ruud is relying on Nadal errors here - he needs to find something more to turn this into a match.
 
That's probably that, Nadal playing well enough to be ahead, think the occasion is too much for Ruud, seems like a nice lad though and hope he's back.
 
Michael Douglas has impressively lustrous hair.
 
Very happy to see Nadal win, seems the occasion was just too much for Ruud. Hopefully he will be back and win a major event.

Nadal making sure he is leading the conversation for GOAT status. Actually wish he can win 2 or 3 more slams but it's probably a tough ask.

Novak got time on his hand so you'd imagine he'll be adding a few more over the next 5 years or so.
 
Seems like Nadal is easily going to win this third set

From what I read there's a good chance he will retire soon.

Also Novak is 35, I doubt he'll keep winning for the next 5 years.
 
Sort of expected really. Ruud is a good clay court player but on paper a terrible match up for him against Nadal.

The frustrating thing for Ruud is he hasn't even forced Nadal to get out of second gear all match.

Ruud hasn't won a game since breaking to go 3-1 up in the second set?

Is it something to do with his injuries? I hope not, he is still good, going to win his 2nd slam this year, and only 1 year older than Novak.

The pressure of playing Nadal in a RG final has to be immense.
 
Nadal didn’t even need to go into 2nd occasion got to Ruud. For sure, I will be rooting him in future tournaments - really nice guy
 
He is too good, maybe the absolute greatest, and an absolute gent, well done Rafa!
 
Rafa fans. Savour this moment, potentially the last time we see him play.

If it is, I'm happy it's finished this way. Not a surprise, on his favorite court and record breaking.
 
Ruthless Rafa today - obviously didn't fancy a 5 setter. As for Ruud, looks like the occasion got to him - he'll have another chance.
 
Ruud had a great tournament. Nothing to be ashamed of, losing to Rafa.

Even Roger lost 6-3 6-1 6-0 one time if I remember correctly.

Ruud will be back. Good experience for him.
 
Good job Rafa! The real final was actually the quarterfinal against Djokovic.
