Alcaraz will straight sets him if he wins here.
I'm not so sure. The man has played a Slam final already, he doesn't serve 20 percent first serves like Tiafoe and has a good forehand with depth and spin. I think he'll trouble Carlos.

I think it'll be close in terms of games, just can't see Ruud taking a set... backpedal: unless it's a tie break set. I thought Alcaraz would be knackered today, but no so.

A bit dissapointed by Tiafoe. At the same time he somehow overachieved and underachieved.

This match, imo, was a lot better than the Sinner Carlos match. It also just dipped for one set.

You just cannot keep putting yourself under so much pressure with so many second serves match after match and reach a final. And yet, he very nearly did. Incredible tournament from him.

Hope Alcaraz wins the final and we witness history, the youngest player ever to get rank 1 if he wins, right?

First teenager to be #1, yes. I do hope Ruud wins as he's just extremely likeable. Alcaraz will win enough in the future.

The final is going to be awesome. Ruud is steady I feel. Should be a good game again.

How good was Alcaraz...Hopefully more to come

Unless someone younger has hit number one part way through a season then lost it before season end, then yes. Hewitt is the holder currently at 20 and change.
Nope, it's definitely Hewitt who holds the record currently.

King Carlos! :D Looking forward to two great finals with four in-form, consistent players and so much at stake.

To me this was the highlight of the match. How Alcaraz got to Tiafoe's passing shot is crazy. Insane.

Iga and Alcaraz brining back the movement on hard court.

This pretty pretty dominant.... but then again, Raducanu won it without dropping a set last year, so what's actually domianance in the womens game? :wenger:

Women should be playing first to 8 games at slams. Where is the challenge in playing the same best of 3 set format all year?

The grand slam final should be a best of 5. That is the least they can do to give people something worth the money spent.

What a battle of nerves in the second set. Already the third Grand Slam with 21 years. What a year from her.

Disagree, that's a leap too far. They'd be knackered by the final sets which would severely reduce the quality of the tennis. That's not worth it. Best of 3 'supersets' throughout the slams would be better imo.

Anyway, the time to introduce longer matches was when the WTA had superstars and was marketable. This gen is bland and barely watchable. They desperately need 3-4 consistently good players and get some rivalries going. Swiatek is one, Gauff potentially another. Slim pickings.

Honestly hope this spells the end of the Big 3.

I love Nadal but after 16 years of watching him, tennis needs its successors and now seems an ideal time.

Alcaraz seems perfectly placed if he wins.

My hope is that Sinner can step up too.

Nice to be able to watch a major sporting final and be happy with either outcome.

First game brought back memories of Zverev Thiem. Nervy stuff from both.
