Nadal a break down and will probably lose another first set, this time to Tiafoe. Quite disappointed with his performances this past week as I really thought he'd be a strong favorite for the title. The way he's playing though, even if he somehow wins today, he'll do well to get more than a set vs Carlos.

First set Tiafoe. Nadal's just awful. Couldn't even take advantage of around 5 second serves in that game.

Rather brainless from Tiafoe to just leave a shot at 15-15 and Nadal takes the second set. Tiafoe hasn't even been great but Nadal's really struggled.

Nick Kyrgios being the betting favourite, at least for a marginal brief moment potentially, for a grand slam.... just seems so odd. But I guess that's what happens when you're 2 Ranked 1 number players aren't getting full schedules.

Pretty certain Rafa's got this now Danlil's gone though, and I'm not overly convinced Danlil in the right frame and total form to beat him either. Be great if Alcaraz broke through though.... good chance to do so, but, might be too early.

Nadal knows how to play Medvedev and given the latter's lack of form, it would have been a straightforward enough final for Rafa imo. However, given Rafa's level, it'll be pretty surprising if he even makes the final unless he really steps up over the next few matches (and today ofcourse).

I know he hasn't lost a grandslam match this year, but Rafa's looked so old this entire year.

Rafa is nearing the point where he should shave his head or just fully commit to the comb over.

Not watching the game but how injured does he look? I read he was getting treatment after the first.
He's not injured, he'd just got his wrist taped because he was sweating a lot. He's just looked extremely old today and not even chased down shots he always does. Also doesn't help that he can't even put away 85mph second serves. Just been a shocking performance and one that isn't altogether too surprising given his form this last week.

Just 2 BPs earned vs a non-elite server like Tiafoe who has also missed loads of first serves, is just unacceptable really.

Nadal will fluke this USO as he did AO. I wouldn't worry too much.
He was playing a lot better tennis there actually. He's been woeful all week here and it'll be a miracle if he wins today, let alone vs Carlos and/or Nick.

Didn't he annihilate Gasquet the other day? He will be fine.

Does Tiafoe serve with a western forehand grip? His grip looks weird

It's Gasquet...Nadal has a 18-0 record vs him. Nadal at 65 would be destroying Gasquet so that hardly says anything about his form. He was, however, very poor vs Hijikata as well as Fognini.

Nadal breaks and gets broken back immediately. He's just completely incapable of saving BPs.

Nadal had 2 BPs and second serves to play with and yet again does nothing. Just embarrassingly poor tonight.

Nadal is there for the taking. Tiafoe should be able to win this in 4

Yup, that's done. Alteast I've made good money betting against Nadal this tournament.

We'll have a new mens grand slam winner here. Not sure who I have as the favorite, difficult one to call.

Berrettini, Cilic, Kyrgios and Ruud the ones who have made a final before.

Hoping its Alcaraz or Sinner

Gutted for Nadal here, great chance to win a slam but Nadal wasn't good all tournament and deserved to lose here. Really happy for Tiafoe though, think he's a great guy and I'll be rooting for him in the rest of the tournament. Probably the player I'd have been happiest for Nadal to lose to.

Great job Tiafoe!!! Thank you for making this tournament bearable from now on.
