Tennis 2020

Unfair this is a quarter because both guys are going to take so much out of each other if this carries on.
Looks like it's going to the way of their USO match. The winner will struggle in the semi.

It's not something new. It's been happening to him for some years now. It's extremely bewildering given how mentally tough and clutch he used to be. Nowadays you just know he's never going to serve anything out.
The guy won 2 Slams last year.

As you grow older it’s inevitable that there’s a decline, whether mental or physical, most likely both. Dropping a few sets he used to breeze by when he was 25 isn’t something out of the ordinary.

Double fault to hand the break back to Thiem.

Nadals first serve disappeared.

Really not Nadal like to double fault in situation like that.
He did it just in the previous match too. Nadal was never going to hold on to the single break of serve. He's absolutely woeful at holding on to a break. He'll need to break again.

The best advice to Thiem now would be "don't give a sucker an even break" because eventually Rafa will find his game and if he's still in touch, he'll beat him with experience.

To be fair to Nadal, Thiem is playing sensationally here and yet it might not be enough.

Thiem is Djokovic like he’s making Nadal play another shot and there he takes it.

Nothing you can really do in tiebreaks but Nadal in both sets will be disappointing he had a chance to run away with it.

Ffs Rafa. Expect this to be all over after I'm out of 1.5 hours of meetings

It’s not over yet. Nadals serving well for now.

I still will not forget Thiems massive choke vs Delpo after being up 2-0 and Delpo was close to retiring as he was not feeling well. Thiems a better player than he was then.

Thiem has been very good in rallies. Makes Nadal go out of his comfort zone by forcing him to be more attacking that he wants.

Important first service game for Nadal. If he can get in the lead on the score and get a break fast then he can take it.

It’s actually amazing when you think about it, that the best play for Thiem now is to drag the points out for as long as possible, against Nadal!

Not pretty from Nadal but that's exactly what he and Novak are able to do, win ugly when it's not working for them the way they want.

Thiem started to make a lot more unforced mistakes which untied hands a bit for Nadal.

Umpire right on that. Rafa should challenge. You can’t just go check marks for 30 secs.

Nadal should have broken and gets broken back immediately. Typical.

Don’t know if it was new balls as he is hitting the ball hard or Thiem just losing his bottle.
