Really happy. Medvedev seems to just hang around somehow. Nail adjustments are amazing. Go Nadal!
Medvedev hasn’t played in any way special in the first set. He will have to raise his game considerably if he wants to get anything out of this final. Or hope Nadal somehow collapses.
After seeing such a great wimbeldon, US open has been underwhelming. Medvedev has been the lone shining star. Rest have been meh.

Rafa's gotten lucky he's not faced many good returners all tournament. He's struggled to make first serves all tournament. The likes of Djokovic and Federer would have destroyed that.
Schwartzmann is a good returner.
Yeah. He would have had a tougher time for sure against Fed and Joker but he is such an amazing fighter - never gives up. Easily my favourite player to watch and root for.
I’d add Schwartzmann is 3rd in terms of returning behind Djokovic and Nadal in the last year on all surfaces. Which obviously he has to be due to his size. Medvedev is 5th best returner.

None of these young players look like they are good enough to take on the big three, though I expect Fed to fade away soon. Its astonishing how long they've been dominating grand slams for years now.
Rafa needs to maintain his intensity. He's dropped off a bit this set while Medvedev is now holding with ease.

The unforced errors on big points have been so costly. This match should have been over and now Rafa is serving to stay in the match. Infuriating if he loses this set after all the chances that have come and gone.

Nadal's returning on break and big points is unbelievably bad. He's had SO MANY second serves to go after and messed them all up.
