Could someone help me estimate what time the second men's semi finals could start tomorrow? I know it's dependent on how long the first one would take but even a rough guess assuming the first one is done in three sets would be very helpful.
There will be probably 30 mins after the first SF is over gap + the length of the match. I'd imagine short rallies, but it won't be many breaks.

It depends on how you calculate the outcome of the match will be, but it's safe to say it's minimum 3 hours after it begins as Memphis mentioned above.

Even a 3 set match could last 90 minutes or 2 1/2 hours, so there's really no telling. Cilic and Querry could well play a bunch of tie breaks, so I guess we're looking at something of 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours. Could go on much longer than that, though.

Shame Konta's not really been up to it, today. I think she could've won this, had she handled the nerves.

Impossible to say. Querrey and Cilic have played each other twice at Wimbledon and both times it went 5 sets. The last one was like 5 hours long or something. I assume you're looking at 3 hours minimum and probably longer.

Thanks folks. And is it all but confirmed Cilic Querrey will be first up? Officially, they still haven't announced the order of play.

Amazing that a 37 year old woman is breezing through Wimbledon against a field of players in the prime of their careers.

Dunno if it's official, I've just gone off skybet who have Cilic v Querrey at 1 and Federer at 3. They usually keep the best and most popular players till last I think and that's obviously Federer.

I quite like the idea of a rather retro Wimbledon with Venus and Federer claiming singles titles.

They both won the things ten years ago. Would be fun if they repeat it a decade on.

Mektić, Škugor, Marach and Pavić hopefully on the road to record books.

Needs:

5 hours, 1 minute

102 games

Have:

4 hours, 27 minutes

73 games

EDIT:
Shame, not gonna happen. Marach/Pavić took a break and a match in 33rd game of fifth set.

Konta can hold her head high, a very good performance in the tournament. Feel a bit gutted for her.

I just knew someone was going to mentioned this, could easily say the same about that old Swiss bloke.

I don't know if its a good thing. Nice to see them doing well but not a great look overall for the game.

I don't think Tennis has any players the calibre of Federer or the Williams sisters coming up today, which is why the oldies are still running the show. Once a new upstart emerges, it will all quickly end and a new player will take over.

The sad thing there is there is no one. Rafa was challenging the best as a kid whereas 20-22 year olds lose in straight sets to the big guys these days. The era post Rafa, Roger and Djoko is going to be one of the worst ever going by the lack of any real quality.

Upstarts are generally unknown until they suddenly come out of obscurity and make a slam final or the like. Its happened before with the likes of Becker, Chang, and a few others. Alternatively, it may just be a known young player who suddenly takes his game to a higher level and starts knocking off top 10 players.

Zverev and Thiem will win a slam. Both among the top 20 now and when they're in their prime the big four will be long gone. We're probably heading for a period much like the women's game now outside of Serena and to a lesser extent Venus Williams. It's going to be a sad day when this era comes to an end.

Pinning my hopes for Kyrgios to polish his game and win a slam pretty soon. Otherwise it does seem like a dark age after the big 3 retire.

Not rating Sascha?

I think he can beat all the middling top 10s now in a couple of years.

Not a guarantee of course. Just look at Grigor.

I think we may have a transition to where the women's game is more popular. I've not lived through it, but I've read/heard where the women's side was more popular.

Right now, the WTA tour has probably been more interesting than the ATP for a while. I'm going to start following it more closely.

I can't watch women's tennis, because I know someone like Serena would lose against a top 150 male player. Takes the impressiveness out of it. Still can be enthralling in a close game, and not nearly as bad as Woman's football.

Not for me. A lack of big names or characters hasn't helped them. But following it (albeit from a distance), it seems pretty entertaining.

Nah I rate him but I don't like his style, neither Thiem's. Kyrgios is more of a all rounder with a touch of arrogance around him. I like his style and as things stand will most likely be rooting for him after Fed is done.

I'd rather not to be honest. Will switch the sport rather than watch the WTA.

I haven't watched the WTA since Henin retired.

Would love to see how long Cilic is taking between serves. Nadal-esque so far.

Yeah, he spends more time bouncing the ball than playing tennis.

Looks to be a bit of a tedious match, very samey. Hoping for Cilic to get it done in three sets and bring Federer on the pitch.

Having trouble with internet. Can't make it work on laptop.

It better works soon. Wimbledon SF ffs.

How's the match going?
Not too exciting. Neither player able to do much in the opponent's serve. Cilic slightly more convincing so far.

Really glad Querrey took that, got screwed over by a missed call at 1-1 and then a bit unlucky with Cilic getting a first serve back after that lady collapsed. And Cilic's ball bouncing is driving me insane.
