T20 World Cup

i always thought anver was sri lankan ?

My parents were Indian. The partition in 1948 saw their house and lands taken over by mobs in Kathiawar. They fled to Ceylon, as it was then known. My father had a business there. I was born in Ceylon much later.

I have dual citizenship. Sri-Lankan, and Indian. So, my loyalties are divided between these two nations. Maathru Bhoomi: India. Janma Bhoomi:Sri-Lanka.

Do any one still speak Gujarati - Kathiawars native tongue in your family?

My parents did speak. But I am a bit suspect there. Came Chhay? Thheek chhoon. We spoke a kind of Kutchi dialect and Hindi at home. Still do speak that. But Gujarati was not spoken so much. In our home, it died a natural death.

Stick to supporting the dirty cheats.

I've been telling my Indian friends they peaked too early when they beat us in the friendly. Same with Sri Lanka to some extent - I can see Windies do them. SA are just so bloody robotic and efficient. However a choking semi final is probably the best place to meet them. Let's hope so.

Lovely!

I shouted 'Chokers' at Parnell all evening at the boundary until he misfielded one shot for an easy 4. He was visibly shaken and you could sense the chokers tag was eating at all of them. Graeme Smith looked nervous as hell on the field and with the bat.

Now that the game's over, I felt sorry for them. I like the SA team's professionalism and that can't be knocked.

Pakistan are no more or less cheats than any other cricket playing nation.

You all sound bitter and twisted.
I wanted them to get into the final so I'm not bitter at all. I'm just saying how can you call Sri Lanka cheats when Pakistan are probably the biggest cheats of them all.

Into their middle order now. Dilshan needs to play something really big here.

Yea. I had no idea he was this good a player till I saw him in the IPL this year. He used to bat in the middle-order for Sri Lanka, but they promoted him. He said that's where he started out playing cricket and feels more comfortable there. He wasn't such an aggressive player in the middle order, as I recall.. plays a completely different game as an opener. He's terrific.

You need to get out of India to rid yourself of the tunnel vision you possess. The Brits, Aussies, Kiwis, Windies, SA, and Sri Lankans will always support their own countries for a few generations.

ive traveled all over the west and once to bangkok (:D). i think people should support the country where they have grown up and enjoy all the benefits of that country. im too patriotic for most of the people!
