T20 World Cup

Don't worry Indians, for tonight I laugh a little at your plight. Tomorrow you can belly-laugh at us getting knocked out by Ireland in two world cups in the same decade. But then again the Pakistanis seem to have played their Ace in the pack at the right time (Abdul Razzaq) so who knows what'll happen.

Indians definitely overrated, Harbajhan (like Murali) is nothing special anymore and the rest of the bowlers are flat track bullies. South Africa are the only stand out team in the tournament, followed by Windies.

I couldn't give a flying feck, except for the fact that I'm mildly ashamed that England beat us at anything, even something that vaguely resembles cricket.

For your lot however, this may be the highlight of the season.

seems a strange statement, apart from cricket can't think of any other sport where india compete at any decent level.

congratulations jadeja you twat for wasting god knows how many balls.

I don't blame him. He pretty much batted to the best of his ability. I've never seen him do anything better. It's the fault of the idiot who promoted him. That, if anything, was a situation tailor made for Dhoni to come in and anchor the innings and leave 80 odd off the last 10 for Yuvraj and Pathan to get.

Yuvraj and Pathan the only players to come out with credit. Pathan's been absolute class. I hope at least this makes Dhoni and Kirsten sit up and realize that he should be coming higher in the order. First time he's playing in England and he played well.

Dhoni needs to learn cricket. Or stop pretending that he's a batsman. And stop coming in so many commercials.

Harbhajan actually bowled well. Unlucky that the two wides he bowled went for four.

Few changes needed. I'd still back the same players mostly. Shit from India, well done England..

Sri-Lanka dont look up for it anymore. Their performance seems to be dipping. It is only the bowling led by Malinga, Mendis and Murali that seems to be coming to their aid. Sadly the batting has been woeful in the death overs.

They are lucky to be in the semis.

We're not in the Semi's. If we lose to New Zealand and Pakistan beat Ireland, the likelyhood is we'd be out due to our poor Net Run Rate. I agree our batting has been a let down. The top 4 batsmen our crucial, we don't have a hitter/finisher in the middle order. The likes of Silva/Mubarak and Matthews don't look good enough I'm afraid.

Anyway, here's what I think of the potential semi finalists.

Sri Lanka - struggling at the mo. They've got problems with their middle order. But their spinners are quality.

South Africa - They look uber power. They're like a well oiled machined created by Adolf Hitler himself. I hate them and hope they choke. Parnell looks to have Stuart Broad type potential.

England - Potentially the best side in the world. Worried about the dross that follows KP, though. If he clicks England have a chance.

WIndies - Gayle. That is all. If he fails, so will the WIndies.

Pakistan. Umar Gul is a star. I like their bowling but they still may struggle with their batting.

NZ - no chance. Sorry.

India - oh wait. Apologies.

New Zealand must score over 200 runs, and dismiss us for less than 100. Rather unlikely, isnt it? This is because of New Zealand's run rate being very low: they were all out for 99 against Pakistan.

Yet you are right. We are not yet in the semis.

You're in the semis. Stop being gay.

According to Cricinfo, our NRR is 0.700, whereas there's is 0.943, with Pakistan at 0.740.

I think you have your batting order wrong.

Sangakarra and Jayawardene look good in T20 when playing around big hitters.

I'd have Jayasuriya opening with Sangakarra, followed by Dilshan(if Jayasuriya gets out) or Jayawardene(if Sangakarra gets out).

I hope Sri Lanka win it, I like the players.. but I can't see beyond SA.

Do you think England will line up the same as yesterday? I'd like to see Rashid in for Swann or maybe play two spinners if the pitch turns. We will need to get Gayle out as soon as possible, does he have a weakness?

SRL will go out if they lose to NZ by any margin. Assuming Pak don't bottle it against the Irish

Precisely. Due to our poor NRR. New Zealand have injury problems, and I'm confident we'll beat them. But I guess in this format of the game you can't be sure of anything.

Why was he dropped? I thought he looked decent aside from his huge nostrils.

Really? But NZ are shit to be fair.

Not sure to be honest. I thought that he looked the better bowler out of him and Swann. The decision probably came down to who had more experience.

You can say that again.

They won't win.

If you look at WCs. Teams that struggle at the beginning seem to go on and win the tourament. So, basically, that's England, WIndies and Pakistan in this WC. Sri Lanka might have peaked too soon and SA will stumble eventually, oh and they have a history of chocking.

Windies have not struggled in this tournament at all, bar the game against SA.

Fidel Edwards

How may tattoos do you have?
About five - all on the arms. Mostly my son's name - Thierry Edwards - and his pictures. He is going to turn three on June 25.

Is he named after Thierry Henry?
Yes, though I'm not a Barcelona fan. I root for Manchester United.

Who is your all-time favourite soccer player?
Diego Maradona. He was very skillful, played with a lot of touches, and had a lot of imagination.

Imagine an United fan naming his son Thierry.

I hope for a good game between England and Windies, a major downfall for England is they really don't have any big hitters apart from KP.

Windies might sneak it after being useless against the English all summer.

You really want West Indies to win don't you?
