I went to India-Pakistan at The Oval last night...what a win it was! Great, great day and never could have imagined it was a warm-up match - to win by 9 wickets was emphatic. The rivalry was clear but it hardly went too far, only a few incidents where the Police had to step in and eject people but overall it was fierce but friendly, some Pakistan fans started leaving early but were shaking our hands and congratulating us on the inevitable win.

The two Sharmas were on top form, brilliant prospects both of them. Ishant's bowling shifted the momentum in our favour and Rohit's batting was immense, didn't even slog but still had an awesome strike rate. Players like Suresh Raina really do make a difference, young and hungry players who build an intensity in the team especially when fielding. I couldn't believe how easily we made the total in the end, celebrating a win with 7-8 overs still to play :) Chants of "That's why we're champions!" as we were leaving topped off a great night :cool:

Sell-out too, 3,000 fans or so turned away at the gates which is incredible when you consider the England-Windies match was pretty much half empty.

I was there as well and it was an unbelievable experience. Loved the celebrations outside the ground as well, it was as if we had won the world cup. Fantastic probably better than watching India Pakistan in India.

The top 2 teams from each group qualify for the super 8s, in which there are 2 groups of 4.

Group 1 is A1, B2, C1, D2.

A1 will almost certainly be us. B2 will be the loser of England vs Pakistan.

If the top two seeds from a group qualify, they will be seeded 1 and 2 respectively for the Super Eight regardless of which team actually finished first and second in a group during the first round. For example, if Bangladesh are first and India are second in Group A, Bangladesh will still be A2 while India will remain A1 for the Super Eight because India were seeded 1 while Bangladesh were 8. "

England and the Aussies will qualify from that. Why is it shitty though? Should be brilliant :D
 
Well, this is interesting. Netherlands need 79 from 64 balls to win with 7 wickets left.

watched the England innings and Wright was good , but my god does he look ragged when he is playing a shot.
Just switched on the Holland innings and OMG what the feck is going on ,we should be wiping the floor with this lot ,and it looks like they might win.

Catch, they should still be able to save this game, whether they deserve to or not is another matter entirely.
