Sir Matt Busby's 1967-68 United team lost only one game on its way to winning their first European Cup.
After leading 2-0 in the first leg against Polish club Gornik Zabrze, United found themselves 1-0 down after 72 minutes in Poland. The scorer : Włodzimierz Lubański
After an intense 20 minutes of defending, United won the tie 2-1 on aggregate.



England failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 1974 which led to to Sir Alf Ramsey resigning.
Their only loss in the qualifiers was to Poland, 2-0. Lubanski robbed the great Bobby Moore off the ball and scored.



Considered by many to be the greatest Polish footballer of all time.

Sure, more difficult to find a player but no longer the choice between 2 guys for the same role.

I would have probably picked Giresse by the end of the draft

Ah I think you miss my point as you are new to drafts. Socrates is my all time favorite player. I've read everything I could find and watched every Cortinthians of his I can find. No one can replace Socrates for me =D
