Sven Goran Eriksson has died

RIP. My dad passed from Pancreatic cancer a couple of years back, it's a horrible way to go.

Glad he got the chance to manage at that charity game earlier in the year, was a lovely moment.

What a team he had with Lazio in 2000, he was well-backed but it was a strong and streetsmart squad with goal threats all over the pitch.

Rest in peace Sven.
Lost my mother to the same thing last year and he's definitely in a better place now. One of the worst things to go through.

RIP Sven. Fine manager and a gentleman to boot. Managed England to probably the best night as an England fan in my lifetime; that surreal 5-1 vs Germany. Couldn’t quite believe what I was seeing when it was on.

When he got word of his terminal cancer he said back in January he'd be lucky to last a year. RIP Sven came across as a true gentleman.

So today.was finally the day. Cancer, what an awful disease.

RIP Sven.

I think it's fair to say he really did live his life to the full, given everything he achieved in and out of football. The start he had as England manager was insane and I wish he'd won at least one of those tournaments. Seemed a really down to earth and likeable fella. Hope he didn't suffer too much in the end. RIP Sven, and thanks for the memories.

RIP Sven. Always seemed like a good person and great coach.

The 2004-06 golden generation will always be my favourite England team.

He was hilarious on Special 1 TV - "the fox in the box! Sven FM!" "Be a champion!"

RIP.

Lost my dad to the same type of cancer a few years ago.

It's a terrible thing to lose someone that's always "been there," even if you didn't know them in person, but he seems to have lived a good and fulfilling life.

Rest in peace.

Sad news. He always came across well and was a hell of a coach. The way our media hounded him says a lot more about them than it ever did about him.
