Support the manager and the players

Appalling coverage of today’s game on MOTD just now. Gloating over the brilliant performance of Palace, which was in reality based on luck and an unlikely freakish worldie. When will our turn come? Oh when oh when?

I agree we dont look like a well drilled team. However we have many players missing and on top of that it seems players are not doing what is asked, which has been a theme from last season

Personally I think he does not have the players bought into what he wants and thats a problem. I don’t know if hes a good manager or not. What I do know is that a few managers have been saying the same thing about certain players in this squad.

Also having players stick around that you clearly wanted gone does not help (as we saw with Tuchel at Chelsea last season)

As for the latter, it’s a normal part of football and not a problem unless you wanted those players out due to disruptiveness. Nobody should feel sorry for him, or any manager , because they didn’t manage to sell all the players the feel are dispensable. So what? You don’t have to play them, what about the ones he does want, and picks every game? Why cannot he not do better.

I don’t see Postecoglu under performing if they didn’t manage to loan out Reguilon on deadline day. We have enough players that he chose to do better than he does. Managers come into clubs mid-season without choosing any of the players at all and organise them well. We need to stop making excuses for him not doing his job well enough.

If the players are not doing what he asked then perhaps he needs to be replaced with someone they will listen to.

We are not playing as badly as our results suggest - scoring goals is still the major issue but they will come

too much responsibility on the shoulders of a 20yr PL rookie at the moment

Injuries and off field issues still having a negative impact

Ten Hag will sort it - bald is best !

I've supported this club over 45 years but sacking Eric would spell the lowest point for me. I genuinely think we need to be sticking behind this manager while focussing on getting the parrasites out. We need to judge him when he can run things with the support Pep gets.

So he needs 1 bn before the team can play better than Crystal Palace? At home?

The result and the overall performance are not exactly the same thing. If we played like CP today and got the win I find it hard to imagine we'd be sat here saying what a good well deserved win it was where we played better than our opponent.

There are two different standards expected of the clubs of course and CP surpassed theirs today and we are subpar, so it's not mitigation for the results ETH is getting at all. I just don't think we have to characterise the game as something it wasn't to get to that point. Sometimes you can lose games in football that are a bit harsh on the overall play but we have to do better with creation too.

They need us more than ever now. Erik couldn't have made better substitutions than this. Pulled off his "favorites" in Casemiro and Rashford as well.

Maybe he should try not starting them in the next match. Would be a game changer for him to have players who try for the full game instead of only having 30 mins to get a result.
