16 full international caps (which include qualifiers), 2 league cups and a premier league title to his name, and is only 23.
Id say a player with that under his belt would be deserving of 40k, much more than a player whos never touched any sort of silverware and only has 1 full international cap, in a friendly if im not mistaken.
I like Gibson, and I'm a Paddy, but an Ireland cap is not comparable to an England cap at the mo', no way Gibbo would have an England call up if he was eligible.
Played for Manchester United 58 times. Surely thats an achievement in itself. Scored & played an important role in the side that won the League Cup 08/09 & 09/10 too. Has Champions league & International football experience.
Not the point though. However difficult it may be to get in one national team and not the other, hes played competitive, international football. Surely has to be taken into consideration.

He has played sporadically for us, been deemed not good enough, is surplus to requirements, and is obviously up for sale. For not a lot, if the fee agreed with Sunderland is any indicator.
