Todays shite.

Martinez would be a great buy for both Barcelona and City. I reckon he'd play defence for Barca and would be perfect for that role, he's great on the ball.

Aye, I can see Martinez to Barcelona particularly as Puyol is getting old, and the defense of Barcelona has been shaky this season.

Why is everyone known as a *insert region here*' answer to Cristiano Ronaldo. At this rate I'll be South Manchester's Cristiano Ronaldo!

In a lot of ways Martinez would be good for Barcelona's backline yes. But I think they'd have to rebuild it almost completely to use him there.

The reason being pace and Dani Alves. Martinez is not very mobile and while that shouldnt be a problem normally, Puyol, Pique and Mascherano who he'd be playing next to cant really make up for it. Plus with Alves continuing to rampage down the right, the RCB will always need to cover ground to go from protecting the space he's left unoccupied to lining up next to his CB partner.

Perhaps if Barcelona were to sign him and use him as a CB, it might be because there's something to the stories about Pique's situation not being great at the club. And Martinez plus a fast CB might come in to be bedded in as their new central defence over the next few seasons.
