Let's not forget what they paid for Nastasic, Savic, and Lescott. They've never been able to find a decent partner for Kompany. They've probably spent in the range of 150m on central defenders, and when the deals for Laporte and Stones go through, that's another 85-90m gone on it.
For some reason Veratti really excites me and though I have managed to retain some dignity over Pogba, I can't help but feel all muppety about Veratti.
He's short but he's a warrior. And he reminds me of Scholes with his space finding radar, lovely first touch and neat passing. Big difference being Veratti can tackle!
If he was in any way attainable he would be my first pick, but its the equivalent of PSG buying scholes from us, never going to happen.
