Neither do I. I actually thought Southampton looked really strong the last 6 months. I was actually about to bet on Southampton ending in top 4 next season. Probably wouldn't happen but they seemed to be the obvious team who could surprise everyone with Ronald in charge. Can't understand why he want to move to Everton now that he finally seems to have build something good in Southampton.
Hes probably pissed off as they likely wont keep Wanyama and Mane

It's an interesting one. I assume he must have been given some assurances that they will be able to hold on to their best players. Some good talent at the club to work with if they keep them all.

Ye maybe. Maybe he is seeing Everton as a more stable club that can afford to keep their star players? But if the rumours are true then Everton might sell lukaku and barkley. So that contradicts that theory. Just don't see Everton as a bigger club than Southampton.

Weren't Leicester linked with Islam Slimani? They should go for him, he just had a stellar season for Sporting CP.

I don't usually trust half of these tweets but if true we should be all over it, especially after the season he has just had.

Yeah, really seems a no brainer to sign a winger with his pace, stamina and end product.

Really? I dont watch a lot of Dortmund, but he has never impressed me.

He's been excellent this season, someone will have his stats but he's close to 20 goals and 20 assists for Dortmund in 15/16 and was pivotal to their attack. He reminds me of De Bruyne in his ability to pick and execute the right pass in the final 3rd while moving at pace.

Tomorrow's edition of the Kicker says: Dortmund could now sell Mkhitaryan if someone pays at least €40m for him. Contract extension is currently very unlikely.

We should be all over this, get him in as our #10 or most advanced midfielder in a three man midfield.

23 goals and 32 assists in 52 games last season.

Wow.
That is very impressive. Was he poor last season? I guess every one was poor last year for Dortmund..

Aubameyang was probably the only consistently good attacker for Dortmund in 2014/ 2015. But one might argue that Mkhitaryan was as good as him, if not slightly better - in 2015/ 2016. He really was up there with Müller, Lewandowski, Aubameyang, and briefly Costa - as the best attacker in the Bundesliga, IMO. And infact, he was named Kicker Player of the Year over all 4 of them:

Considering that ~£30 million doesn't always fetch much these days, that fee for someone in his peak would be shrewd business. Especially since he can play in most attacking positions, is hard-working, and quite intelligent on the field. The only concern is that he's someone who needs to be reassured of his quality, and he didn't show his best performances under Klopp when things went tits up. Tuchel reportedly built him up psychologically last season, and one would hope that (if) we get him, José would do the same. And he probably would, given Zlatan's 'made me feel like a terminator' or 'lion' narrative.

On Monday, Marca have words from Villarreal official Fernando Roig Negueroles, who told them: "There is a team that is very interested and if the three parties agree there will be no problems. If the player wants to leave and Manchester are interested and pay, we will reach an agreement."

We haven't had a double announcement in a while. Would be good to see a pic of Bailly and Zlatan holding United shirts with Mou in the middle.

I still don't understand why he'd go to Everton

I thought I was the only one, he has a very good team at Southampton, lots of good youngsters and something to build on from last season.

Maybe they are offering more money?

Yup. Southampton have and will always be a selling club, relying heavily on their youth system to keep them competitive. With a massive influx of money Everton have the potential to compete financially with the bigger boys. They are a bigger team, he'll be given a massive pay increase and a massive transfer kitty to spend.

Those stats are impressive!
By the looks of it they are Transfermrkt stats and not official stats, which tend to be much lower than what TM suggests for assists. Still great numbers though.

Sport: Barcelona are looking for attackers to complement MSN. It's difficult because they can't buy the real top player as they won't want to play second fiddle to MSN. Nolito (Celta) is top of Enrique's list, Lacazette is there too as is Michy Batshuayi (OM's Belgian striker).
