Summer Transfer Tweets 2016

Quite simple, because we've got his position covered, albeit with players of a different style (Carrick, Schneiderlin, to a certain extend Schweinsteiger). It's not worth throwing that kind of money at Kante IMO, despite his excellent season I feel he's quite limited. Our problems are further forward as well which Jose identified swiftly. If Carrick is managed properly I won't be surprised to see him have a much better season than the last couple.

Covered only in numbers, two of those players are on there last legs and one of them is simply average. You can throw in Herrera and Fellaini as well. One of our biggest problems the last 5 or 6 years, even further back tbh is that we have had a lot of central midfielders and not one of them has been quality. Carrick is still our best central midfielder performance wise. I think Fosu Mensah may be the answer long term. Our problems are virtually all over the pitch considering our performances the last 3 or 4 years.

We have all positions covered but to be honest I think there are more players that need to be moved out than in, too many for one window mind you.

Why have I been hearing all summer that "Kante had a clause and is available for just £20m"?

I think his contract states something like whoever offers Leicester the highest amount above £20m, they have to accept that offer. Vague but apparently it's along those lines. Not quite sure how that wold work because surely Leicester could wait to see if someone offers more, etc.

Liverpool are run by morons if they think they'll find another club stupid enough to pay £32m for him.

I remember when he was seen on a similar level to Dybala whilst still at Villareal.

He can't buy a game at Atletico so he will fare even worse at Barca. Fòr the sake of his career, he needs to get regular game time sooner rather than later.

"Cold, cold", "Pogba raises questions/doutbs","his performances in the euro didn´t convince, the price seems exorbitant"

Real Madrid scoffing at a fee just says to me that their bitter about losing out on him and are now saying that they didn't want him in the first place.

This is good news. It makes it more likely he's coming here (in my opinion) as I interpret this as Madrid in damage limitation mode, possibly due to their knowledge that we're about to make a world record signing; as such, they'd rather portray their inability to financially compete with us, as their not wanting to compete with us because the player simply isn't good enough in their estimation.

Considering they paid £85m + for Gareth Bale I tend to agree. £100m is ridiculous though.

It is clear that Madrid will never admit a defeat, besides every day Florentino controls more sectors of the press , so it is difficult to know the state of the club , however the income level of the club is still very high so I do not think the economic situation has changed dramatically.
In my opinion is a set of facts , Raoila , an unexpectedly high offer from United, the fact that the president is not in love him him + the surveys
Another factor that can be decisive is the salary . From what I have read Pogba would earn 15 million euros a year in United. I don´t know is whether net or gross ?. Even if it was gross , it would be around 8 million euros net. He would earn more than Modric , James , Kroos , Marcelo and almost like Benzema after 7 years in the club. Perhaps the club think this can bring problems , as happened last summer with Ramos .
Personally I 'm glad he has not gone mad with jealousy. There will be more players to invest heavily in the future.

We should have accepted Palace's original £27.5 million bid. We'll end up stuck with him now.

Is he really that bad, though? Admittedly I didn't see much of him last season, but he scored one of the goals of the season against us at Old Trafford. I got the impression he didn't start too often, which can really eat at a player's self-belief, especially an out and out striker (unless they're a Solskjaer type). Am I being too kind to him?

If Stones is worth £50 million, Rio Ferdinand was like a free transfer for us is 2002.
And David Luiz transfer made us feel like we conned Leeds into bankruptcy.

This sounds so good. While Bravo's tradition goal keeping is not the best, still very good, his distribution and sweeping ability are current the best IMO. Relying on Hart to play possession football...

Yes he is a good CB.. But how can we rely on someone who might miss a chunk of games and next in line is Rojo, TFM and Blind again..

I saw how JM said his teams rarely get injured(* knock on wood). I really hope we can have a decent season with less injuries..

If we have lesser injuries, I'm quietly confident about our chances and season. E last two years have been modern terms of players missing through injuries..

Whats wrong with Blind?

Nothing is wrong with Blind. He did a great job as CB for most of the games last season, but he's not a natural CB and it clearly showed in some games. Yes, if it comes to it he can do a job there, but like JM said, I would rather have specialist in certain positions.

Blind for me works better as a LB and DM. Anyways it's a moot point now as I don't think we're going for another CB, unless we sell Rojo or any other CB in our team.

Well 10 goals in 41 appearances was his final tally so make of that what you will. The reality is that he doesn't suit the style of football Klopp wants to play.

Origi seems to be the best option to play in Klopp's system and Sturridge's goal scoring stats speak for themselves. Ings is also a player that could do well in a high press style. So basically there's three strikers ahead of Benteke and no European football, so fewer games.

The reality is that Benteke won't get the game time with us next season. Even if he did, he wouldn't get the type of service he requires to score goals. Selling him is the best option for all parties.

The signing never really made sense and had Carroll part 2 all over it. He's a much better striker, but didn't fit the style Brenton wanted and definitely doesn't suit Klopps style.

I actually think Benteke is worth what Liverpool want for him in the current market, transfer fee wise anyway. His wages might be complicating things.

He is a very good striker in the right team.

Not at all, most people didn't even know who Dybala was when Vietto was looking so promising at Villarreal

Simeone has pretty specific criteria for 'attacking' players in his system and most of it is based on not having the ball. Plus, Vietto is not the sort of fighter that Simeone prefers eventhough he inexplicably played Martinez more. He wouldn't have been my first option for a rotating player for MSN but I still like him very much - he's talented, proven in the Primera, young and motivated to play with his fellow Argentine.

Plus, it may end up just being a loan.

I am surprised that Atletico would look to move the player on their own since Simeone is the coach who first gave the player his debut back at Racing so I suspect the player isn't happy there.

Sky Germany reporting Sane is in Manchester.

Interesting move, I'm guessing De Bruyne will be moved to a central role to accommodate Sane then ?
