No, he's been spot on about many stories in the past.

You've got that backwards. Old (current) Pogba goes back and is taken out by Young Pogba, otherwise you're just causing a paradox.

I don't think it would make particular sense; both Pogba and Matuidi operate at their best on the left side of a 4-3-3. You'd be limiting the ability of one by playing them out of said position.
 
A midfield 3 of Sneijderlin, Matuidi and Pogba. Just think of that for a second. :drool:
 
Thought the Matuidi and Pogba midfield for France looks seriously unbalanced.

Wouldn't be that great. No balance.

Personally, in a 3 man midfield, I like the holding play to be able to control the game. Schneiderlin can't really do that.

Also, as others have mentioned, both Pogba and Matuidi operate better on the left.

Basically, put in a deep lying playmaker, a box to box player on the right side, then we'd have good balance.

Pretty sure that signing Matuidi would mean the end for Schneiderlin. I think we have a buyer for the latter (possibly Everton), and this has prompted a move for Matuidi, who is an upgrade for sure.
 
Raiola is going to own the club by the end of the summer.
 
I am not sure what we're trying to do. The real question is Rooney. I fancy him playing behind the striker but it's also the best position for Pogba, if he comes. If Rooney is too close to the goals, it becomes a midfield of 2 and Pogba is going to struggle.

If Rooney is in a midfield of 3, he might be too far from the goals too.
So what is it?

I don't think we need Matuidi, we need someone to replace Carrick / Schweinsteiger in the long run, a young DM.
And we can have Pogba / Herrera / Schneiderlin / Rooney / Mata for 2 spots in the middle in front of this DM.

If Schneiderlin is given another chance as a DM, actually that could work out well, but Blind is supposed to be there too.

If Rooney goes up in the field to fight for a place with Zlatan and Rashford then it becomes more interesting in the middle.

Zlatan / Rooney / Rashford for the CF
Martial / Memphis for the LW
Henrikh / Lingard for the RW
Pogba / Mata / Herrera / Schneiderlin for the CMs
Carrick / Schweinsteiger / Blind / TFM for the DM
Shaw / CBJ for the LB
Smalling / Bailly / Rojo for CB
Darmian / Varela / Valencia for the RB

It's in the middle where I really don't know what we are going to do.
I still think that in his best moments, Schweinsteiger is the real DM to use, he's the one who has everything (Carrick is really getting too old).
But he's old and past his prime.
If TFM is to be developed, and Schneiderlin cannot become a DM, then maybe we need a spot there.

Actually I am really curious to see what Mourinho wants to do with this team.
 


Let's hope they won't find a buyer for James Rodriguez as well. Everything points towards a pogba transfer to United.

When we are attacking then Rooney plays closer to goal so he is a #10 but when we dont have the ball and we are defending then he falls back to make it 3 in midfield and plays a little away from goal.

If true absolute madness from both clubs. Chelsea dont need Morata, especially at that price, with Bat Shit Crazy and Costa. RM wont get a better offer than that for Morata.

That's pretty much it. It's funny nowadays how formations and players roles are massively over complicated.

Rooney will play at 10 behind Zlatan as said in the previous post.

It allows a 4-4-2, a 4-4-1-1, a 4-3-3 and 4-5-1 all with same players and will depend very much on the flow of the game.

The Pogba signing is the crucial one as we have lacked real power and drive from Midfield since Roy Keane. I hope we get him.
