Doesnt a free transfer mean youre contract is up? So how can you have a buy back option?
I guess you can do a free transfer for a player still under contract and include clauses.

Seems like a fair price. Wanyama is just a brute, but a good squad player for them to have.

Spurs with clever business yet again. While everyone is fighting for Kante, they quietly try to get in a proven force like Wanyama. Not sure how he figures into their plans though. They have lots of options in that position, figured they could use a back up to Kane more than anything else.

Really good signing that for Spurs. Last few games showed that if they lose Dembele and Alli then they don't have adequate backup. So having Wanyama as some midfield steel should be good for hard fought games.

No real quality though. Take away Dier, Dembele and Alli and what are you left with?

Bentaleb, Mason and Carroll. None really look good enough.

Just me or lately has there been sod all reported in the papers at 10.30 like there usually is, rumour wise?

They play with a double pivot usually don't they ? I've liked the look of Bentaleb honestly and thought he's decent back-up. But yeah, they don't have really strength in depth, but from Wanyama's pov, would he be happy playing second fiddle ? I can't imagine both Dier and Wanyama playing too many games together. That must be exclusive to CL away games or something.

You're quite right.

I imagine most of the reporters are on holiday / at the euros. They're probably hearing whispers, but they won't get the interest they need in writing about it while a major competition is on.

Expect a lot of rumours and transfer talk from mid to late July until August 31

It's no coincidence that the 99% fabricated, click bait transfer rumours dry up when there's some actual football to report on instead.

Was hoping for more rumors tonight, the muppet inside me is decreasing day by day... need to get to July..

Wanyama is a great signing. I'd be all for us signing him to be honest.

Good and young, steadily improving. I wish he'd start over Rami at the Euros.

He still lacks experience at the highest level. I guess we'll know soon enough how easily he makes the step up to barcelona but it looks like a good bet.

Sounds exciting. I like that he plays at both LB and CB. Apparently we've been following him since 2010 under Zubi, but I guess that's just a load of media nonsense. Don't remember the last time we signed a player that I've never watched play live, at least not that I remember of. So I'm kinda excited and looking forward to see how good he is.

Cheers.

Why in July? Euros?

That and also the fiscal year ends on the first of July. So the Denis Suarez signing will be announced then, and maybe along with Umtiti.

Interesting, perhaps they feel the transition from Guardiola to Ancelotti might give them a chance at sneaking the title. It seems both players want to leave but fair play to Dortmund if they are going to try and keep them. Would be surprised if both left but I think one of them will end up getting their wish.

If they had this hope then why did they sell Hummels to them

If that was the case, Gundogan and hummels would still be there.

Dortmund would not want to start the season with four key players all unhappy about the fact they are still there. They probably accepted Hummels and Gundogan desired to leave and let them, now they've learnt of interest in Auba and Mkhitaryan they're determined to not lose them as well.

Yeah, nah. You don't sell your club captain if you have aspirations for the title. To your direct rivals, at that.

Don't buy this for one second. If the right offer comes they'll take it. If Dortmund are not going to sell us him then they would have already pulled the plug on any talks, that hasn't happened yet.

Raiola, for the giant nob he is, isn't stupid. He knows he wants Mkhi to get the best contract so will do anything in his power to let it happen, clearly Mkhi isn't going to sign another deal with Dortmund now after negotiatians have failed.

If Dortmund don't sell him for €40 million euros they'll be stupid. Bayern could be an option for him and he would be free. Imagine the outrage if he left for Bayern? The fans would turn on the board.

They have to draw the line somewhere i guess.
Have they even replaced the 2 that are already gone?

Marc Bartra at CB, and Rode in midfield, though the latter isn't that much of a direct replacement. They also signed a young Spaniard called Merino.

Sell their best defender to a direct rival to make them stronger but won't sell players who want to leave because they want to challenge for a title. Rofl
