Television Suits

Just watched the last episode... Anyone else think it all came together a bit too easily?? For a storyline that's been 9/10 episodes long, the whole thing was resolved in about 15 minutes! You'd imagine they'd have to work a little harder to get him ousted then that... (or hey, maybe not, but it could certainly have been a lot more dramatic).

It was a very fun episode, Mike's funeral speech was probably his best bit of acting so far, and stoned Harvey & Mike was ruddy hilarious.

A good few things appear to have being solved easily so far, first episode of the series Mike's future was resolved quickly. Tanner was pushed aside easily after a bit of a build-up, Hardman pushed off in a similar manner, etc. I presume it will come to a head again, especially by the looks of the preview at the end of the last episode.

Just finished watching this today and I agree with the general view that it's a good show.I really enjoyed and specially the Louis Litt character

Just caught a few minutes of an episode on Dave whilst flicking through channels, am I tripping or have the altered Harvey's voice? I've no idea why they would, but it sounds higher pitched than on the versions I, erm, acquired from US TV.

You're right it does sound a little higher pitched. How odd!

It does sound a little different. What's going on with that? this is the pilot on Dave though I wonder if he was told to go deeper after this first episode.

It starts on 24th January on Dave. They probably didn't start it earlier as now they can play through all the episodes without having a mid-season break.

Good man you are. the wife will be delighted, she's been bending my ear about when it should be starting on Dave for weeks now.

Imminently I think.

The brand new episodes start in The States on 17 Jan, too.

Yes!

I think it's my favourite guilty pleasure show. Not really meaningful or thought provoking in any way, but the characters are great and the writing is just so clever, I love it.

In it's own way it's just as entertaining to watch as shows like BB and Mad Men, but obviously not as good.

I think it's just played at a higher frequency, although I base that on absolutely nothing.

It's a great show though, looking forward to the new series.

Agreed. It's this and Castle (though Castle is much more the guilty pleasure) for me. Really looking forward to the new episode.

I really enjoy this although I think they really need to move on the current storylines - the Rachel and Harvard elements are getting a bit boring. I'm not a big fan of the whole moral rights/wrongs that they play on with Mike.

Not sure why it's a guilty pleasure; it's a good show.

The new one is available on those dirty rotten torrent sites now, I'm in the process of downloading it to verify before reporting it, obviously.

Pretty good return, but Mike remains such a tiresome, one-dimensional character, he's just too black and white. The grey of Harvey, Louis and Jessica is much more engaging.

Louis and Female Louis  Not many shows make me 'lol' but their first scene in her apartment did.

Mike definitely grated on me a bit this episode but overall it was a very enjoyable episode. Looking forward to next week.

Really enjoyed that episode. Was kind of obvious what was going to happen with Luis but still, I like his character and I'm glad Mike got his shit together because he was annoying in the last episode.

A hint that the 'will they won't they' shit between Mike and Rachel may be over with her seeming to be done with him, which is good too, and I like the way the overall plot seems to be heading.

Yeah, just watched it, great episode. I fecking love this show, and I can't wait for next episode, Rachel will be in the centre of it by the looks of it.

Louis is fast becoming my favourite character, on par with Harvey. He just plays the company bitch so well.

I've always liked him, but I wasn't a fan of the way they took him when Hardman had control, as brief as it was. To me he's always been a bit of a douche but in a funny and quite likeable way, and I didn't think going as far as trying to get Harvey fired really fit for him.

The last one was a good episode for him, like you say he's a company man and he just wants to be loved.

I actually didn't like this episode that much. The whole "Rachel has issues with her father because she's a beautiful woman and no one takes her seriously" storyline felt pretty generic. Louis' parts were funny though, as was Rachel taking Harvey's bagel

And yeah kouroux, next week looks fantastic.

Louis is fantastic  Nearly as funny as Mazuka in Dexter

Watched all of this in 2 days and finished just before the premiere of the last episode. Love it.

I've watched the first four episodes of this but nothing more. Partly because I cannot find it anywhere online. I've heard it gets better as it goes on but I can't figure out what the appeal is. It seems decent but it doesn't make me laugh, nor do I really have an interest in the plot at this moment. Also lawyer version of LaGuerta annoys me.

Personally I found the first episode pretty underwhelming but I stuck with it and by episode three or four I was hooked in. I would guess that if by now you don't like the humor and characters then you won't like the show overall.

I've met very few people who don't like it though.

I wouldn't say I don't like it. It just seems very formulaic. Not A Lawyer is given a problem to solve that seems out of his depth, does decent at it but is tricked by someone who has been at the company longer. Then he tries to hide it but Smug Lawyer finds out and gives him a little bit of help. LaGuerta will shout at Smug Lawyer about something. Problem is still kind of there until Not A Lawyer has some sort of House style revelation after someone says a random word like 'carpet' and solves the case. Then he'll get called into that Litt guy's office where he'll either act a dick or do something that makes us think he's not actually that bad of a guy (until he does something to flip it back in the next five minutes).
