Straylan and Kiwi politics

So Morrison is rejecting the French claim that they weren't advised of the Australian change of plans until the moment the other deal was done. So why are the French so outraged then?

A huge loss of $ and face.

So which side do you believe?

Both. And neither.

I'm sure we mentioned the project was very troubled but I'm sure we didn't tell the French anything specific before publicly announcing it.

#scottyfrommarketing is an arrogant wankstain in vaguely human form who doesn't give a feck about common courtesy when he no longer needs you.

Scotty has a history of saying things to the media before telling the relevant parties.

20 new community cases here in NZ today, only 1 is not linked however there is an expected alert level drop to be announced for Wednesday but I think it would be mad to do it yet. Think we should do 1 more week before dropping to 3. Its going to get ugly here if the drop to 3 doesnt happen on Wednesday. Hope the Govt can hold strong.

Yeah, fair enough. There isn't much merit in taking the French at face value on this either.

Its not too late to become a major manufacturer of solar panels, it is still in real terms early days for them. Price isnt the only competing point.

  • Christian Porter has resigned and gone to the back benches (good)
  • #scottyfrommarleting didn't sack him (bad)
  • He is still in parliament (bad)
  • He will now never be PM (very good indeed)

Of course he wants it to be clear that he is the victim in all this and it is all the ABC's fault that he incurred a huge legal bill in his failed defamation action and then took a huge sum of money ($1 million allegedly) from a blind trust. So he has said that he would rather quit that try to find out and/or reveal where the cash came from. Truly bizarre that he thought he could personally take so much anonymous cash and think nobody would have an issue with it.

And then giving out praise for "upholding ministerial standards" by resigning when you get caught.

There is some grand levels of stupidity when you managed to give a nation 90 billion and still manage to piss them off.

Scotty's stupidity is actually astounding

It really baffles me why he hasn't been sacked or forced to actually fully resign. He effectively took a million dollar payment/bribe...

He should have asked #jennyfromhr if it was a good idea. After all she managed to explain to him that rape was bad even when it doesn't happen to your own daughter.

Because the Federal government is a moral free zone with added white male entitlement (even the remaining women are white males).

These Melbourne protests sure do have a lot of very new high vis, lack of good boots, a lot of runners and very cheap new boots though.

Coppers are making them walk mile after mile to wear them out.

Yep. $2 hi viz from Crazy Clark's

Bizarre day in Melbourne. Can't get to the train station because of the protests and then an earthquake!

Got Climate summits coming up too, Can't wait to see how the scotty can feck up Australia even more at that event.

Govt in NZ starting to make noises around the public needing to get used to community cases now being a common thing, also indicating there will be no more going to level 4 lockdowns but tightly targeted regional lockdowns as the vaccination rates climb. I guess we have kicked the can down the road for as long as we could and now we have to ease ourselves back into the international scene.

You have to open up at some point. Hopefully that point is when you are vaccinated enough to hugely reduce the impact.

NSW 1063
VIC 766 cases - will pass NSW very soon at this rate of increase :(
QLD 1

Yep it has to happen, some modelling information released today is still pretty sobering.
New modelling prepared for the Government by Shaun Hendy suggests that New Zealand could see up to 5000 Covid-19 deaths a year even with a high proportion of the population jabbed.

The modelling from Te Punaha Matatini suggests that if 80 per cent of the 5+ population was full vaccinated - around 75 per cent of the entire country – Covid-19 would still cause a serious death toll without other restrictions.

Hendy projects it would cause 60,000 hospitalisations and 7000 deaths over a one-year period.

If 90 per cent of the 5+ population was reached however – around 85 per cent of the full population – then deaths would drop to around 50 over a year.
