It's something that irritates me. Rooney gets a reputation for being thuggish and hot headed (deservedly so but we rarely see it nowadays) where as Gerrard is viewed as a model professional, heart on his sleeve sort of player despite his thuggish actions for over a decade.
On my stream Greame Le Saux reacted worse for Rooney clattering into the keeper midway through the second half. "That's wreckless, he's a lucky boy" and all that shite. Nobody seems to have the arse to call Gerrard out on idiocy he's prone for.
When we got the penalty at the end he could barely talk he was so disappointed. An awful commentator

Being honest, most where I was, were just applauding the strong challenge on Mata. A sign after the one sided first half that we were at least going to get stuck in.
