Gaming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Not got high hopes for this.

The first was a jack of all trades, master of none. The combat was way too floaty and unresponsive for a game that aspired to be a Souls-like. The Metroidvania aspects were lazily implemented and the puzzles were basic and boring.

Tried getting into it a few times and bounced off it hard.

Me neither. Just felt very repetitive.

I played the first one and it’s one of the very few games I’ve ended up getting bored and patching it midway through. Found it very disappointing to say the least.

Tough crowd in here. I enjoyed the first one, in the way that I enjoy a solid 7/10 game. It knew what it wanted to do, did it well for the most part and didn't overstay its welcome. Story and supporting characters were pretty decent as well. I'd say it's a fine game as long as you can get it at a solid discount, it's never a full price worthy title but then almost no games are.

I also didn't last long with the first one, the constant running & jumping 'gameplay' was a real turn off. May give it another shot one day, but i'll have to be pretty bored.

Couldn't be arsed finishing the first one.. Really dull, totally unimmersive. Boring.

The old Jedi Knight games were great, but these new 3rd person games are completely forgettable.. Hate the way they play, and the awful cutscenes and acting... No interest in the new one

The first was meh but my teenage son loved it. This will be another great looking package with little great gameplay. But mostly mediocre.

This is how I feel about it. One of the better single player Star Wars games imo. Looking forward to the sequel.

I hope they give you this time a lightsaber, not a baseball bat.

I loved the first game! I wished that getting around the game was a little easier, it felt like a poor version of a Souls game. However everything else was outstanding, just had to drop the difficulty down at the end because it just got a little too hard for me.

Even though it isn’t shown in the trailer, I hope you can relatively quickly get to choose the colour of the lightsaber. I really liked the electric pink saber and hope I can use that again.

I was excited for this game but have just found out it's only for the next gen consoles, which I don't have :(

It's probably been around a decade since I bought a video game that was still freshly released but I was actually going to get this one straight away.

I said that on the first page, too!

They should add the feature that the old Jedi Knight games had called realistic mode or something. Where your lightsaber can one shot enemies by cutting off their limbs, but you can also be one shot by the dark Jedi.

Yep, definitely. Especially for boss fights in Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, it was possible to both one shot them or getting one shot in return. That was far more realistic than needing to hit 20 times something with a lightsaber.

Tbh, the last Jedi game was choppy as hell on the PS4.

Hyped for this

Currys are doing 15% off with the code JEDI15 , but I have to see if the shopto PSN credit deal works out cheaper

Reviews are out. Looks very good. A few technical issues but will probably get patched.

A big improvement on the first. I’ll pick it up on Friday.

Anywhere to pick this up fairly cheap? I love the PS5 but having to pay £50+ for a game right now is a ballache.

Another port that’s pretty much unplayable on PC.

I’ll wait til it’s patched and half price.

I bought the £84 PSN credit on shopto for £69 and used it to buy Jedi Survivor and the new Horizon DLC . Basically meant I got Burning Shores for free compared to the standard PSN prices

The first one had some major issues but was kind of fun. I'm happy to wait. Previously daft Star Wars games were never canon, but now they are, it can't be spoilt. I'll just assume the Star Wars universe is dumber than it was before and even more over powered characters just ignored the plot of the original trilogy.

Is this the sequel to respawns first one, the dark souls clone?

If so, if they can get rid of that weird timing delay on the combat and movement the game will be infinitely better already!

Does Anthony Martial still play a starring role, the important questions!

Preloaded on Steam. Probably expect new Nvidia drivers for it tomorrow as well on release day.

Looking forward to this. I couldn't get through Outcast at first, but on my second try I liked it a surprising amount. Reviews are looking great.

If the game as is good as this advert then it's going to be amazing

Really enjoyed the first and got my copy early - played through the first bit and it's pretty much exactly the same but some of the screen tearing is atrocious, sound cutting out on occasion.

Playing on Performance Mode on Series X.

So jealous of everyone getting this.

I was just on YouTube and someone I keep up with is live streaming it now. Just seeing Coruscant and it looks so cool.

I can wait a few weeeks or months for them to sort out the technical issues. More importantly, the game itself is received well, that's what counts for me.

Played for half an hour. I suppose the major technical issues start after that or my eyes arent trained enough to notice the horrible screen tearing :wenger:

The gaming community is a curious one. They mountains out of molehills and declare any game unplayable after staring intently at a pixel under a microscope for hours on end. I can't tell you how often I've been on here, and in forums, and read scores of people venting their criticism of whatever game breaking bug is present, only to play the same game and experience little to no issues at all.

Mind you, I play on a optimised console and not a PC, so there is that, but I do get the impression that the gaming community in general just exaggerates every little thing to a ridiculous degree.
