Sri Lanka vs England

I originally thought that the dog was a secret England fan, though now i am not so sure.

Bell's gone.

Operation Block is now in full swing, enter Hoggard.

He has incidentally, chosen not to havea runner.

anyone got a stream to this match? this could be quite entertaining

Bastard!

If you could choose any number 10 to come in in these circumstances, it would be Hoggard mind. I once saw him bat out the best part of a day at Headingley to prevent Lancs winning the Roses match, the git. Sidebottom showed he can stick around first innings too. Anderson can't, next wicket down is game over!

Bit late but anyway...

Shocker of a decision that.

Dear me.

How much technology and intervention is too much? I mean the 3rd Umprie would have seen the decision for what it was.

Bollocks

Well i didn't expect it to still be alive and us to take it this close the way things were going earlier.

That umpire and that inside edge. England could have hammered the daylights out of those lankan boys, what with Sidebottom at the crease, and just a handful of runs to get. Bloody cheats.

We finished 351 all out.

Prior had an amazing standactually, really did well, and Sidebottom offered up another valuable contribution too.

Sri Lanka are 25/2 after 11.

Now that all sounds good from an England PoV. However, inside those eleven overs Broad has received two warnings for running on to the wicket. One more and he'll be out of the attack for th rest of the innings.

We've hit a bit of a brick wall here, with little difficulty Sri Lanka have moved on to 157/2.

Vaughan has cycled through the whole attack to no success. The pitch isn't somewhere he can look to with hope either.

And Jayawardene is well in on 65, got 300 odd at Colombo a year or two back.

On a different note, a streaker from the Barmy Army is expected to be deported from the country. It was the first example of its kind in international Sri Lankan sport.

Everyone's been talking about the 2nd test here then I see?!

If England weren't involved, you'd say it was almost certainly due to end in a fairly drab last days play draw. But we are capable of dumping all our wickets in 2 sessions, so who knows

At least on the first day i would have expected a bit of interest in here.

First test match at Galle since the 2004 Tsunami as well, an English charity contributed directly to the restoration of the ground and the revival of cricket in the town so i recall. It is a feel good story from that PoV.

And i guess the locals will be more than pleased about our fielding today too :). Prior made some basic technical errors, which doesn't help.

The England side do love to set records these days, and we've done it again.

Give it up for the record low score against Sri Lanka, 81 all out.

We were only set a modest 499 by the way.

In defence of a few fo the batting order, some of the deliveries were absolutely unplayable, but then again most of our fielding yesterday was vergin on the criminal.

It was an embarrassin run out that put us out of our misery.

The Galles will be happy, and good for them, but Engalnd, well...:(

Cricket used to have it's own pavillion in here because it was supposedly so popular...

It peaked when England finally won the Ashes and tailed off after that with brief interest around the time of the World Cup and the next Ashes series. I doubt we will need a special forum in the near future because interest is very low on here at the moment.

I was hardcore, stayed up for nearly every session despite the whitewashing that took place

Not this time though, it's too much. Our batting is capable but liable to go 'English' at a moments notice, and our bowling attack is now one of the weakest in the world. No Flintoff, no Jones, inferior Harmison, injured Hoggard. Our mighty Ashes winning attack torn to shreads

One word.

Caddick.

:lol::lol::lol:

How are we ranked as the 2nd best test nation ???

I believe we're down to 5th after this result

Certainly not 2nd anymore

That would make far more sense, although I'd still feel aggrieved if I were one of the poor bastards still behind us, bar Bangladesh, they're total shite.
