Spurs 2018/19

I was asked who we were linked with I said who, I don't really rate him TBH and can't see any other elite teams after him, but I'm sure you know better.

I don't rate him all that much either. I don't think we'll sign anyone but will instead continue to gives the likes of Winks and Skipp their chances.

I think most Spurs fans know we're not an elite team, I really don't get your hate tbh, it's like you are triggered just to have a cheap shot constantly.

You said “any other elite teams” which implies that you’re also an elite team.

I’m not interested in taking cheap shots I just don’t appreciate your condescending “I’m sure you know better” reply.

I meant any other elite teams, as in he would have to look else where.

Fair enough. He’d be a quality signing for most teams IMO, including Spurs especially on a free. I rate him.

As a player, he'd be a great signing.

As a personality....doesn't fit in at all with how Poch wants his players to be. Seems to be a bit of a troublemaker and if PSG's golden boy won't sign a new contract there (not sure of the exact reasons why in fairness) I am not sure what Spurs could offer him.

We have been linked with him almost every summer for about 5 seasons now though and were apparently very close to completing a deal ages ago so who knows? Don't see it though. Especially if Barca are really after him and offering him regular opportunities.

Haha. You don't want one of them stencils if Poch leaves because of Levy then? ;)

Do I want a stencil to try to force out the chairman that has taken us from a midtable club to one competing at the top levels of the PL and in the CL? The one that has brought our facilities to the 21st century? One who is on course to break into the top 10 clubs in the world revenue wise?

No..I definitely do not.

Is Levy perfect? Of course not. He has made some mistakes during his time here. There are some things that piss me off about him. I do wish sometimes he was more aggressive in the market. I do wish we'd won more trophies during his time as chairman. I will never forgive him for how he fired Jol (even if it was his time), probably the first manager the fanbase was able to connect with in a long time. If we are ever to make the move up to a truly consistent top club, which wins trophies aggressively, part of me feels that the chairman won't be him, that he's far more adept at getting a club to the stage we're at now than he would be at pushing them that last bit and keeping them there.

But Levy is a Spurs fan, who has the club's long term interests at heart. They don't take money out of the club (though I wish they'd put a bit more in). And looking around, who are the chairman I'd rather have, especially if you exclude the oil rich patrons? Not many imo.

Scholar almost destroyed this club and made a 'Big 5 club' a perennial mid table club after we missed the initial gravy train of the PL. Sugar didn't do that much better. I feel like sometimes people forget where we had fallen to by the time he and ENIC arrived and how the likes of Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Leeds etc are doing now.

Agree with all of this.

Come on spurs, win 9 of your next 10. Win the league, keep pochettino and we’ll keep solskjaer who’ll have just won us the CL.

Haha! I agree with most of this too! These days I mostly submit to InPochWeTrust while at the same time I am also in the InLevyWeTrust camp. The latter camp I have been in for most of his tenure even though he makes me furious at times. There hasn't been and doesn't have to be a conflict between the two camps the way I see it. Please note that my "threat" was in the specific, still hypothetical, situation where Levy is the reason Poch leaves. If that happened, I'd take side with Pochettino. I totally understand if people choose to stay loyal to Levy even in that situation as he truly has done a fantastic job, but for me that would be the cue for Levy to leave as has done a fantastic job isn't good enough if he doesn't do a fantastic job anymore.. Kind of like the Wenger situation at Woolwich.

If the past 4 years had been endless success you wouldn't have sacked both of the managers who brought it.

Clubs sack managers who've brought success all the time? Del Bosque was sacked the year he won the league title for Real Madrid for example. If Solskjaer were to win a trophy this year it would be our 4th in the 6 years since Fergie retired and given the mess the clubs been in that would still be a reasonable return (even if we win nothing this year 3 trophies in 6 years is hardly awful either)

Come on Spurs, win the league for every non Scouse football fan in the world. No one needs to see that lot win it.

It will be a never ending nightmare.

Now who's making it up as he goes along. What a ridiculous comparison.

Ok I'm done. You want to say it's only been 20 years? ok. You want to say only league titles and UCL is success and everything else is meaningless? ok. Whatever you want sweetheart

That's not what I said though. And I am not your sweetheart, sugar.

Absolute cretins. Another set of life-bans for racism, please.

What the actual feck?

I honestly can't believe anybody would record that and go 'yeah, that was funny that, time to upload it to social media'. I mean, how thick can you possibly get?

No idea at all.

I wasn't sure whether to post it here or not. Honestly, it kinda feels like we need one thread dedicated to football* racism at this point, because we all know the actions of these two mugs doesn't reflect the overwhelming majority of Spurs/football fans.

Still, the irony of Spurs fans taking the piss out of an Asian lad whilst cheering Son  Further compounds their stupidity. It'd be like me ragging on Africans when Mane & Salah lead our attack.

(No doubt a very small portion of Liverpool fans do hold such views, sadly).

Racist football fans are the kings of hypocrisy, no point trying to apply logic to their actions. Chelsea had a bit of a reputation for it (again it was only a tiny minority of them) but I guarantee those same fans were cheering on their talisman Didier Drogba, and the likes of Essien, Cole etc. They're just total morons with no self awareness.

Feck me what a pair of utter bellends

The bit I can't get over is that they actually think that it was funny enough to upload. They've basically sat there and gone 'Ha he's Asian too, just like Son! Bet that means he eats egg fried rice.'

Top, top banter. Echo @Tommy in hoping they both get lifetime bans, surprised they were even able to find their seats to be honest.

Might not be a bad idea.

My current prediction:

1. Liverpool
2. Spurs
3. City
4. Arsenal or United.
5. United ot Chelsea (Sarri sacked)
6. Chelsea or United (Sarri sacked).
7. Everton.

Can't see City finishing behind Spurs. I know one team is in a rich vein of form right now while the other has lost the last two, but I just can't see it lasting.

Sarri sacked is also a wild prediction. I can't see that, either.
